UC Davis MEPN 2018

Published

Just wondering if anyone is applying for the Fall 2018 UCD MEPN program! And if anyone knows how many applicants they have/ get in?

Hello all! First, congrats to all those who got accepted! Second, I wish those that are waitlisted the best of luck!

@ucdavis_nurse I also received the same scholarship package and am curious as to how they distribute this as well. Hopefully they'll send us a Facebook group invite soon?

I submitted an inquiry about the MEPN accreditation at Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing and here is the reply from the CCNE accrediting agency,"The MSN program at the University of California, Davis is a new applicant for accreditation. The program hosted an on-site evaluation on September 6, 2017. The program is being reviewed in our spring committee cycle. A final decision regarding the accreditation status of this program will be made by the Board of Commissioners in May. This information will be made public in either late May or early June, 2018. Please feel free to reach out again at that time or check on our website for new accreditation actions."

Reply from CCNE, "The entry level Master's of Science in Nursing is a new program up for accreditation with CCNE. This is a master's level program that prepares entry level students who do not have a nursing license to sit for the licensing exam at the conclusion of the program. The accreditation status of this program will be determined in May. The Master's of Science program covers the FNP and Leadership tracks. These are not entry level programs, but are preparing already licensed nurses to advance their practice and skill sets. This program has been accredited by CCNE since October 5, 2011."

Congrats @popkern!! I'm waitlisted 😒 Hoping for the best...

Thank you for the info!

Thank you so much for sharing your newfound information with all of us! :)

Have you guys applied for student aid? How are you planning to pay for it all?

Hello,

I am new to the thread. I was looking for more information, specifically review from previous cohorts. Do you mind sharing your experience thus far?

Thank you!

Wendy Martinez

Hello Everyone,

I was recently accepted. I found this blog while searching for information. Congrats to everyone that was accepted and I am keeping my fingers crossed for those of you who were wait listed.

I wanted to join the group and just say Hi!

I am also looking for more information regarding student aid. Based on the tuition for last year's cohort it's a little pricey in comparison to other programs.

I live in Los Angeles will be planning to check out the campus sometime in April. Is anyone familiar with the area? Housing suggestions? I have searched for apartments however, some of the areas listed are a little pricey. Has anyone looked into this yet?

Thanks,

Wendy Martinez

hi! has anyone made a FB group?

Specializes in Medical Surgical.

Hi everyone! I just made friends with someone from cohort 2 and she told me that the facebook page has been made. Search for UC Davis MEPN Cohort 3. Congratulations for those who were accepted and good luck to those waitlisted!

@wendmart The campus is not actually on the UC Davis campus in Davis. It's in Sacramento, close to all of the UC Davis medical centers. I just went this past weekend, and the Betty Irene Moore Hall is beautiful! So you might want to check out places in Sacramento. I believe it might be a little more cheaper there.

Hi Wendy!

First of all CONGRATS on your acceptance! I am originally from Roseville but moved down the street near campus so it's only about a 20 minute walk. If you are looking for housing, I would look at craigslist and zillow, as those were the most helpful in finding a decently priced place. Also, if you are able to find someone else from the incoming cohort to live with, I know a couple people from the first cohort and my cohort (2nd cohort) who have classmate roomies and it is great! Hope this helps :)
