UC Davis MEPN 2018

Published

Just wondering if anyone is applying for the Fall 2018 UCD MEPN program! And if anyone knows how many applicants they have/ get in?

I'm glad I finally joined this network. I'm looking forward to hearing back and I'm so happy I have someone to wait with! I honestly have been checking my email x10000000 a day. =/

this week (fingers crossed) good luck! Now, just need to figure out a way to keep mind occupied.

It's way too quiet here...

Are others busy hearing from other programs?

Hi everyone!

I emailed admissions last week regarding when we will start to hear back. They said they will be in touch with all applicants by the end of November about whether they've been invited to move on in the admissions process.

I understand that at that time they invite students to fill out another application, but do they hold interviews at all? I'm having a difficult time finding information on their website.

I got accepted to a Nurse Practitioner program, but I wish you all luck in the process! I am still keeping UC Davis as an option since it was in my top schools as well. It is just frustrating how long the wait is until you find out. í ½í¸”

I heard from previous threads that we would find out if we get to fill out a supplemental application and from there they would do interviews. The end of November sounds too long! I'm also waiting for USFs non nurse msn program! Too much waiting :/

Hello everyone!

I am am currently in the UC Davis MEPN Cohort 2. I've heard that UCD will be accepting 48 students for Cohort 3. I am really enjoying the program so far! Let me know if you have any questions.

Hi! could you share your experience until now. How was your selection process? Do you have any knowledge for this incoming cohort? What's are your favorite parts of your program? Advice? We are all just trying to pass the time as we nervously wait and there is still little on the program online since it is still pretty new. @Lfletcher1 Thanks for any insight you can provide--sure you are pretty busy!

Hi all,

I'm currently in the MEPN program and absolutely love it. Good luck to everyone, I know the feeling. Let me know if you have any questions.

Hello Nursingsince2019!

I am only on my fourth month, but the classes and clinical experiences have been great. It is a lot of work but definitely doable! The program sticks to the mission statement in that we have interprofessional classes with medical students, NP/PA students, and social workers. I would advise you to know the mission statement well and have a clear reason for why you'd like to be a nurse. I remember waiting for what felt like forever. I think I got the final decision letter around Christmas. It was quite the gift. I'm not sure if the timing will be the same this round. I've been asking about the decisions as I'm already excited for Cohort 3 to be here. The panel is very quiet about the selection process. If chosen, the school goes to great lengths to ensure students have all the information they need. Good luck!!

The wait is killing me!! Thank you to everyone who is currently in the program providing us with information. Has there been any additional talks about when they will inform us and when the program gets accreditation?

I placed my reservation for the SMU ABSN program since the deadline with earlier this month, but I am hoping to hear from UCD before the ABSN program starts in January =( Anyone else in the same boat? Hopefully they get back to us soon!

Thanks for the info @ Lfletcher1! I think these types of programs work really hard to put together a cohesive cohort so it's possible they dont even know much besides the requirements until they are going through the applicant pool. Fingers crossed. This prgram sounds so great. It's already November so we should be hearing back about the secondary application by the end of this month. I wrote admissions and was told that first round is end of this month and second is in March.

May the odds ever be in your favour...

I am in the same boat as you! I was accepted to SMU ELMSN Case Management program start January and I probably will be accepting soon, I didn't realize the wait for UCD would be so long. I'm sad because the tuition price is probably much better !
