UC Davis Medical Center RN Residency Summer 2013

Published

Hey New Grads! I just wanted to start a post about the upcoming New Grad RN program at UC Davis. I thought it would be nice, and anxiety calming, to start a thread to share about the application process. I just finished my application. I was surprised there were no supplemental questions to fill out. Anyways, Good luck to everyone!

Oh yeah, Anyone else apply for previous cohorts? Maybe you could share some insight into the process. I'm hoping for a transplant position, I LOVE transplant nursing. I spent 2 rotations on a transplant unit in school in Colorado and LOVED it.

I got a call for ortho!

Good to know calls are still being made! Congrats!

Has anyone gotten a call from Trauma yet??

Has anyone gotten a call from Trauma yet??

My classmate got a call

Does anyone have insight into how they choose the nurse grads for this program?

One of the trauma nurse managers told me she already finished hiring new grads for her unit...I wish there was a way to know if someone doesn't get in:no:

Did anyone that interviewed with peds inpatient hear back yet?

Peds - I know one person got hired

@charis - like, they heard back today that they were hired?

I didn't hear back yet from my peds interview, it seemed like if we didn't hear by the end of today that we most likely weren't chosen. Was that your impression as well?

It doesn't seem like all units have set up interviews yet. Could they still be calling this week and interviewing next week? I remember HR telling me managers would call late May to early June but with the start date being so soon it seems to be cutting it close! I know all managers have different schedules but this is driving me crazy haha

If I recall correctly, I think they said Tuesday or Wednesday, depending on how fast HR could process stuff. I believe they said they'd pick their top 5 and tell HR to notify people, so I'm not sure!
