Ok I called and the lady said no interviews for NICU have been extended and she’s not sure there are even any positions available in the unit ?

"extended"?

I was scheduled for an interview with the NICU but did not receive any other information in regards to how many others were asked to come in.

Congrats!!!! Did you go yet? How long ago did they call you?

Oh yay congratulations! Would you mind sharing a little about your resume or if you are an internal or external applicant? Trying to make myself more competitive for next time!

I am en external candidate that received a call last week. I precepted in a high level NICU and made sure to stay well rounded and involved in organizations/groups in school.

Specializes in ED.

Have you heard of any people interviewing for OR?

What organizations and groups do you belong to? I am also looking to be more competitive for next round. Do you have any advice regarding what to do to be more competitive. Thx ?

I am involved in the ANA and in the honors society. I would definitely make sure you have a well written cover letter that really shows how passionate you are for NICU/peds/etc! Have people look over it and mention attributes about yourself that can't just be taught in nursing school.

From my understanding, they constantly reach out even mid February for the April cohort.

Oh lord! the suspense!

From what I hear there’s no set number of positions, it’s about if it’s the right person interviewing... if they fit the culture and profile of the department. And that they keep interviewing to keep looking for people through April.
