Anyone applying to UAB? I have pretty much finished my application, just waiting for two recommendations. I doubt I will have my CCRN before the deadline with testing centers closed. Looking forward to hearing from y'all!

I disagree. They’ve had the apps for almost two months. Why would they not send all the invitations on the same day? For programs with a rolling acceptance style, sure. But UAB doesn’t do that

I asked a friend from a previous year and he said they had a paper “test” that was open ended clinical scenario questions. Like patient is having XYZ symptoms what would you do next? And then the actual interview was a general interview, not clinical. But I’m not sure how that would happen with it interviews being via zoom now. So they could switch it up and ask clinical questions in the interview since they can’t do the paper “test.” I’d be prepared for both

Makes sense. I spoke to one guy from two years ago and his was all personal questions. But yes, definitely need to prepare for both.
They're not stringing you along, all the programs have been hit pretty hard with how they function because of covid. Interviewing on zoom is gonna take a lot more time than how they've done it, probably just interviewing less and will continue offering interviews after they accept some, move onto the next group. Don't take it as a no unless it explicitly says no from experience ?

Is the implication here that someone in the second round of interviews (basically UAB’s “second choice” candidates) would have any chance of getting in? And zoom interviews will be so much quicker than in person.

Its a very, very competitive program to get into. Nobody is their "second choice." They can only let so many people in because they can only have so many clinical site spots. Things happen, people accept elsewhere, people fail drug tests, people change their mind about going at all. As someone who spent a HOT minute (more than a few months) on a waiting list to get in, and knowing how many people in that cohort were waitlisted, yes. Very much so. And if you experienced how Zoom works for school and how their process goes, you'd understand why you're wrong thinking its gonna be quicker than an in person interview ?

This isn’t a wait list notification though, it’s a “we didn’t find you good enough to interview you” email. All I can say is your username is completely fitting for your irrational viewpoints on this matter.
