I'm stepping back on this runaway train. Reapplied to UAB's AGNP/WHNP combined program for the Fall 2014 entering class. Has anyone else applied? The application deadline is late March!
I applied for the FNP program back in March. Since then, I have been reading all of your wonderful posts and decided it's time to introduce myself. I have one year of full time med/surg experience, and am a very involved father of 2 year old twin girls, with one more on the way. I work in a rural community hospital and have a strong interest in rural primary care. Now that the anticipation is starting to build, I've been checking my mail, as well as this board daily. I wish you all the best of luck and hope to see you all in Birmingham!
Well, I just called bc I graduate with my BSN this week & needed to know if they had my final transcript or not. She said they had my file flagged for that reason. So I am having a completed transcript sent to complete my file. She said it must have my degree listed. Just thought if anyone else was in the same situation they might need that info. Ready for this wait to be over!!!!
No updates to my BlazerNET except the word Freshman disappeared when it used to be listed next to "Class." I think I've logged into my account 100 times by now. I'm waiting for the mailman as I type this. I've been unable to sleep at times due to the anticipation/anxiety. It's all I can think about lately. I'm definitely obsessed
I haven't seen UAB's score matrix (I don't think anyone ever will, or else word would spread and people might try to game the system), but they score things like GPA, GRE if you take it, your essay, your recommendation letters, your work experience, etc. Then, they probably draw a bottom line and anyone above that line gets admitted.

I just got off the phone with CB, and she said that, while the committees DID meet this week, that admissions decisions have not been made yet, and that they'll be made according to a score matrix (I've heard this before, so no surprise there). She also said that although the email sent out before indicated it would be the end of May that we'd receive letters, that it'll probably be quite a bit earlier than that. They probably said that in order to stave off some of the phone calls like what we've been making. OOPS!
