UAB AMNP Spring 2023

Hi all! As I researched UAB'S AMNP Program, I saw a lot of past threads on their experience while applying for the program. I decided to create one for those hoping to get accepted to the program for the Spring 2023 Cohort. I'm planning to submit my application within the next few weeks to meet their priority deadline. my GPA is a 3.875

Hey! I’m applying too. I don’t know my exact GPA. I know that my overall GPA is not so great, but my pre-requisite GPA is pretty high. I heard they look at overall, prerequisite and last 60 hours.

Im sure it’ll be a little different since they can look at overall, prerequisites and your last 60 hours. I’m applying with a 3.5 undergrad and 3.75 prerequisite GPA

Does it take about 3 weeks for them to send out invitations for interviews?

Last year they sent out interview invites on June 24th

Hopefully we hear something this week or early next week. They said by the end of this month at the information session

I hate waiting LOL it makes me so nervous. Does anyone know the application vs acceptance rate?

Same! Not exactly but I applied last year priority and was not accepted because I was missing ONE pre requisite. The program is pretty competitive.

Oh wow! Did you have any experience in the healthcare field and volunteer and shadow hours?

Yes I’ve been a CNA for 3.5 years. So definitely lots of experience LOL.

OMG! I’m so scared now. I have one more prereq to take (taking in the fall) and I’m currently taking one now. I have experience, but this definitely just made me super nervous. I think you’ll get in this time around!
