UAB AMNP Spring 2023

Hi all! As I researched UAB'S AMNP Program, I saw a lot of past threads on their experience while applying for the program. I decided to create one for those hoping to get accepted to the program for the Spring 2023 Cohort. I'm planning to submit my application within the next few weeks to meet their priority deadline. Hey, it's nice to meet you! I have submitted my application already and have two pre-reqs to take. I’m taking my prerequisites this Summer and in the Fall.

Nice to meet you as well. I also have two pre-reqs to take, one in the Summer and one in the Fall.  I'll be submitting mine within the next week. I'm so nervous!

Which pre-reps are you taking? I have Microbiology and nutrition left to take. Trust me I am nervous too!

Hey! Good luck to everyone. I just applied this week and will need to submit my official transcript once I finish the Spring term. I also have two more prerequisites to take this Summer.

Hey guys! I was interested in the AMNP program last year, but didn’t end up applying and instead I got into the BSN program and the joint enrollment program with Wallace State. I chose the WSCC/UAB program and started in January because Wallace is closer. But now I’m thinking the AMNP program is a better fit as I already have a BS degree. I just worry that switching nursing programs isn’t allowed, but I’m going to apply anyway and see!

Hey y’all! I just submitted my application yesterday. So glad I found this thread

Did anyone apply for the priority deadline? Do you have to have all transcripts and/or recommendations received before June 1?

I have. I’m still waiting on 1  letter of rec and I’m taking NTR 222 this Summer. I believe it says in the instructions to not wait on letters of rec or transcripts to submit your application. Leah Carpenter always answers questions and is super nice when I email her so you may reach out to her. Hope this helps

I went ahead and submitted mine missing one letter of rec and I sent over my transcripts but they have not been received yet. I also called to make sure that was fine and it was!

They have to receive them by June 1st I believe, but you can turn it in beforehand if you don't have them and they can still be uploaded later.

Hey everyone! I'm applying for this cohort and I'm super nervous about it! I'm worried that my GPA won't be competitive enough. What GPA is everyone applying with?
