  1. Looking at the previous cycle’s threads, it has been falling around this time! June 23-24ish. Could be different this year though!
  2. This waiting is making me crazy I keep refreshing my email LOL. We should expect an email any time now
  3. Did anyone apply for the priority deadline? Do you have to have all transcripts and/or recommendations received before June 1?
  4. Hey guys! I was interested in the AMNP program last year, but didn’t end up applying and instead I got into the BSN program and the joint enrollment program with Wallace State. I chose the WSCC/UAB program and started in January because Wallace is closer. But now I’m thinking the AMNP program is a better fit as I already have a BS degree. I just worry that switching nursing programs isn’t allowed, but I’m going to apply anyway and see!
  5. Bumpus. I'm a 2nd degree student. I attended UAB, then transferred to UAH where I graduated in December. So returning/2nd degree. Are you a native student? Maybe native students just received the app sooner?
  6. Hmm I actually emailed my advisor on Thursday (July 29) and haven’t received a response. I haven’t been sent the application either. So I’m not sure what that means. I have decided to only apply to the BSN and not the AMNP.
  7. I hope that is true as well! I don’t think it’s required anyways, but just an application booster! The application was supposed to open today. The advisor said that it will be posted on the website and that I wouldn’t have to get it through her. Did you receive the same info? I don’t see it on the website as of now, but hopefully it will be there at some point today.
  8. Hello! I am also applying to the ABSN program at UM. I am married, and we currently live in Huntsville, AL so we will also be relocating if I end up going there! Do you happen to know when the deadline to apply is? I cannot locate it on the website anywhere!
  9. Hello! Just starting this thread for anyone applying for UAB’s BSN Spring 2022 cohort. I’ll be a 2nd degree student. I went to UAB but ended up transferring to UAH where I recently graduated with my BSBA. I’m currently working on my prereqs. Anyone else?
  10. I am! I’m applying for both the AMNP and BSN for Spring 2022. My GPA isn’t the best as I was miserable in my first degree, but still meet the min requirement. I have volunteer experience working in the ER while in HS. I also recently worked at a covid vaccination clinic and just got hired as a tech in a hospital. Apparently in the application you have to write an essay stating why you want to be a nurse. I’ve also heard that it is easier to get accepted in the Spring than in the fall as there are less applicants.
  11. Wow how convenient! So before it was expected that we needed to be on campus full time for the first year, and then we could practice as an RN and do distance learning throughout the remainder of the program. So I wonder how that’s gonna change?
  12. Is anyone going to the graduate school fair next Wednesday at UAB? The AMNP program is participating.
  13. I’m signed up!
  14. I volunteered once or twice a week at a hospital my senior year of high school, but that was 2016/2017 so I don't know if the admissions committee would even consider that. The application also asks for documentation of hours, but I doubt the hospital would even be able to dig those up. I'm woking at a covid vaccination clinic right now alongside nurses, so I'm wondering if that's good enough experience or if I should try to volunteer elsewhere as well.
  15. @MRenner During the information session, are you expected to have your camera turned on and talk? I want to attend one, but I think I have Zoom anxiety LOL. I can't imagine many people attending at once as they offer them every Wednesday, and I don't want it to be awkward with just me in the call. Nice to meet y'all!
