UA MEPN 2018

Published

Hey everyone! I know the application deadline is a ways off, but I just wanted to get a forum started for those of us who plan on applying to the MEPN program for 2018! I have all my prerequisites finished and just have to take the HESI. I already took the TEAS for some other schools and scored very well, so I'm not too concerned about HESI as I hear it is a much easier exam without any science content required by UA. Has anyone already taken it? What did you think and how did you prepare? My last 60 units GPA is a 3.80 and my prerequisite GPA is a 3.96. I'm a little nervous about the interview as I have heard in the past it is very short- about ten minutes of talking time. I'll have to figure out how to eloquently but succinctly express my preparation for nursing school and interest in the field. Good luck everyone!!

Hey all, couple questions:

1. I have 1 inch gauges, do any of the current students know about how to handle this in the program. Should I just expect to have them out all the time? Any advice on how to cover them?

2. Can anyone comment on the policy about missing a day or two? Does this put you way behind or is it manage

Hello!

I'm hoping to apply for the MEPN program in Tucson for next year and was just wondering if any of you can share what your prerequisite and last 60 GPAs were. Also, what the competitive GPAs were for admission. I just want to have an idea of what to expect.

3.55 last 60, 3.66 pre-reqs and a 94 on my HESI. I'm an alternate

I don't know about the gauges; but I can comment on missing days. They will work with you in the case of things like weddings, medical issues, death in the family -- usual things you cannot avoid / were already scheduled. If you're talking missing for traveling or something like that; I would not count on it. Let them know right up front about the issue. If it is on a clinical day then you will just make up the day with another group. I would say the only other major issue would be if it was on a test day. Anyways; as soon as you start -- talk to the instructors and let them know what is going on.

Specializes in Registered Nurse (RN).

Has anyone tried to add the facebook student lounge and been accepted? I requested but it is still pending. TYIA (:

I'm still pending as well.

I went ahead and made a closed group for the Tucson cohort. You can search UA MEPN Tucson 2018 cohort or follow the link:

Congratulations! I know CON will eventually start their own Facebook page, but I started one in the meantime. If you would like to join, I have posted the link below.

Has anyone on the waitlist heard anything yet? Or hear of anyone hearing?

Gauges will have to be covered up. Fellow classmate has small gauges but wears earrings that look normal. Missing lecture/didactic at first is not allowed (attendance is taken), same goes for skills lab. Second level is more laid back, you can miss lectures. Skills lab is always mandatory (they end on level 3)

Congrats!

It is definitely getting more competitive to gain acceptance. This program is at the top for nursing, in the state. Good luck!
