U of A MEPN 2022

Published

Hello everyone. I am applying to the U of A MEPN program this fall for a May 2022 start. I'm super nervous and excited. Anyone else? I have not taken the HESI yet but will be doing so toward the end of Nov. Any advice?

Does anyone have an idea of how much Summer session costs? Or where I can access the cost online. Will We get another award for the fall too? I got the financial aid award but don’t know how much I will realistically need

Your balance appears on the homepage of uaccess. If you filled out your FAFSA for 2022-2023, I believe you should receive aid for each term. If you’re in state, the tuition will range from $44,000-$48,000 and out of state is $53,000-$68,000. The costs are broken up for each level.

Hello, what is the actual start date of classes for May this year? Applying for the 2023 cohort and trying to determine if it's mid or late May typically.

good luck to you all!

Hi everyone! I am feeling SUPER hopeless and was wondering is someone could help me out. I have an overall GPA of 3.3 and pre req as 3.4 and a 95 HESI score. I have plenty of volunteer experience, clinc experience as well as patient care hours as well. Do I stand a chance getting into the program? is there anyone who is in a similar situation?

The classes started in the middle of May this year (the 16th), so I would plan for mid-May.

Hi! I am currently in the program and they only look at the GPA for your last 60 units and not the overall GPA, along  with the prerequisite GPA. I applied with a last 60 unit GPA of 3.6, a 4.0 prerequisite GPA and a 94 HESI score. I didn’t have a lot of health care experience but having a background in health care can definitely improve your chances of getting in. In the information session last year they said that the lowest prerequisite score that was accepted was 3.25 and the average was 3.81, where as the lowest last 60 units GPA was 3.15 and an average of 3.76. They don’t only look at your stats but also your holistic experiences. I hope this helps!

I had a quick question! When they factor in the pre req GPA do they factor in - and +'s in the GPA or do they just take the letter grade as a solid?
(this is making a big big difference so I just wanted some clarification on where I'm at)

thank you!

Hey! I am finishing up my application for the 2023 cohort and I have taken the HESI. I got an 89% and am considering taking it again. Had anyone scored a 89% and was accepted? I exceed the min required GPA for both pre-req and last 60 credits.

Hey! I actually spoke to an advisor today and she they usually see a range of high 80s to low 90s for their accepted students. So I really think you are good! But if you want to give it another shot it wouldn't hurt but I def wouldn't stress too much about it. I've seen on this discord someone get in with a 86 so I think you are fine!!

WARNING TO ALL STUDENTS APPLYING FOR U OF A MEPN !

the application deadline is dec 1 but BEWARE of the dec 15 verification deadline. They never once gave this date on any part of the application or never was this date listed anywhere in the application information when applying. I am now not being considered because NURSINGCAS didn't receive one of my transcripts untill dec 7 and NURSINGCAS need +10 days to process your transcripts. So simply beacuase NURSINGCAS didn't receive 1 of my transcripts untill the 7th I will not be allowed to particiapate in the 2023 running. COMPELTLY UNFAIR that the U OF A does not tell us about this dec 15 verification deadline. I cannot even begin to imagine how many other studnets have been affect by this. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY WRONG! I called the U Nursing department and emailed them with NO response at all. Good luck to all having to deal with this institution.

I wouldn't freak out just yet. I was in a similar situation last year and still got into the program. NursingCAS review my transcripts in less than one week last year so don't give up hope yet.
