Hello everyone. I am applying to the U of A MEPN program this fall for a May 2022 start. I'm super nervous and excited. Anyone else? I have not taken the HESI yet but will be doing so toward the end of Nov. Any advice?

Congrats on submitting your application!! Sorry for the delayed reply, in between finals!
The best advice I can give on this part is to take time preparing for the interview. For us, interview invitations were sent out at the end of January and ours were virtual (not sure what invite dates or format will be this year). Take this time to practice, especially if interviews don't come naturally to you. Your application is a paper representation of you but this interview is your chance bring it all to life. No one knows what the questions are ahead of time but do some research on sample questions so you can get a feel of how you'd want to respond if someone asked you something similar.
Good luck to you all!

Were the interviews done with another person? I heard that it was in pairs, but I've also heard that it was you pre-recording your answers.

We did pre-recordings by ourselves. The cohort before us had the traditional interview method with (I believe) partners. I don't know what their plans are for this upcoming cycle.
@Cozycat, So, if it helps put your mind at ease, after one of the online info sessions we received a packet of info with statistics from the previous couple years admissions. It said the average HESI score for people who were accepted was 91-93% overall. Obviously having a score above that range doesn't guarantee anything and the higher, the better, but 94 isn't bad at all!
Thank you for the info LANative21!

Thanks for the info! How traditional was the interview? Were there any MMI / scenarios questions in your interview? How well would a list of commonly asked nursing interview 50-100 questions prepare you for the interview?

I don't remember the questions exactly but I do think there was around 1-2 scenarios, no MMI questions. I would say practicing commonly asked questions will give you a good base to build your prompts off of. The focus is less on getting the "right" answer and more on how the panel can view you as a nurse. The panel knows you aren't a nurse yet so they won't throw highly technical stuff at you.
One big thing that I cant recommend enough is getting in contact with the advisors and meeting with them. The information I learned having a 1-1 with them was honestly invaluable.

Hello! I received a 93 on my HESI and I was able to get in! I say a 94 is a fantastic score for the HESI and I would focus on the interview part! As the interview will separate you from other candidates!

It was a video interview and for each question we had 90 seconds or 2 mins I forgot the exact time. But it honestly felt too short for me at the time! If you are invited to an interview they will give you practice questions that you can use to practice. They also let you practice on the software which I suggest doing! Getting used to seeing your face on the screen takes time! IDK if they will change the length of time for your interview!
