Tyler Junior College Hybrid 2020-2021

TJC Hybrid LVN to RN starting in 2021. Has anyone else submitted their application? Anyone know how many they take and what scores usually get accepted?

I only had 24 pts for my ADN! You scores better than me on the TEAS. I got 61.3%. It's so crazy how much our pts are weighed so different between both apps! Luckily, I scored higher on LVN with 35 pts since my ADN app was rejected.

Yeah, the TEAS test was harder than I anticipated! I was also told by my advisor that they will make their final applicant selections based on a combination of your points + RGPA... so that will be interesting! About 5 more days left and I am so so so nervous ?

I am also applying to the traditional ADN program. I have 29 points, and I made a 60 on TEAS. If you don't mind me asking what grades did you get in A&P 1&2? What about Microbiology grade? I am drowning in micro right now, especially lab. What is your GPA? Sorry If I am asking too many personal questions I just need to compare with someone in similar situation as me. thanks in advance

No, you're fine for asking I don't mind.  I made A's in both A&P 1 and 2. I also made an A in Microbiology. My GPA is a 4.0. I also have other random points for being in district etc...

That’s awesome!! Sounds like you have a very solid chance at getting in. I am not doing the traditional I am doing the LVN-RN but I also have As in A&P 1&2 and micro and I have a 3.65 GPA. Hoping this, combined with my points is enough to get me through the doors!

Wow I wish. I'm sure you and @ChTurney will get in with those great grade and GPA. I was told that TJC nursing program has a 13% acceptance rate but IDK if that is still true. Just what my old advisor told me back in 2019. I also don't know if that's just for the ADN and BSN, so LVN and LVN-RN paths might be different acceptance rate.

Ya IDK if that acceptance rate is still true. The amount of applicants for each program vary greatly I would think. Hoping for the best for everyone! ?
