TXST St. David's School of Nursing Fall 2020

Published

I haven't seen a thread for TXST's nursing program, so I decided to make one. I know applications are closing soon and I'm SUPER nervous, to say the least ?. How's everyone's experience been so far?

Today's the day guys! It's been the longest wait of my life. I wish you all the best. Don't forget everything happens for a reason, and if you really want to get somewhere in life, you will get there in spite of any setbacks. ? With that said, I pray we all get good news back today.

I got placed on the alternate list. CONGRATS to everyone and good luck!

Same! I procrastinated on applying to UTMB (I REAAALLLLYYY didn't want to move to Galveston) and missed the deadline. I lowkey regret it now because my chances of getting into UTMB were a lot higher than my chances at TXST ?.

What are your stats? If you don't mind me asking.

Mine are:

3.5 prere

Why do you think your chances at UTMB are higher than txst if you don't mind me asking? Is it easier to get in?

Unfortunately I did not get accepted (which I already knew LOL). I knew I did something wrong on my application (I figured it out a few days before decisions??‍♀️). But I’m not too hung up on it, I’m applying to UTA traditional and online, UTHSC in San Antonio, and UTMB after procrastinating for so long. Good luck to those of you who made it in ☺️

UTMB’s standards are way lower for GPAs and TEAS. They consider you competitive with a 3.3 GPA and TXST considers you competitive at 3.5 or 3.6 I think. My UTMB GPA is at 3.6-ish but my TXST GPA is 3.3-ish.

Does TXST do preference points?

Anyone on the waitlist heard anything?

Hi! I was initially placed on the alternate list. I got a callback on the 27th and was offered conditional admission to the school. This was after the deadline for the admission deposit. I believe the next deadline is a requirement of blue cards from the BON. So if some applicants don’t get that in, you might get a callback!

OK thanks! I wonder how many people there are waitlisted

Also, if you don't mind my asking, what were your stats? I am just curious to see where I am in comparison

94 TEAS and 4.0 overall and science GPA

Also, I emailed the admissions coordinator when I was waitlisted asking similar questions and was told that they are not able to disclose the number for waitlisted, but that they typically utilize the list for 15-20 applicants per application cycle.

WOW!, I can't believe you were waitlisted with those stats. My TEAS is an 83 and science GPA is like a 3.7
