TX Woman's University Men?

Hello men,

I have been accepted to Texas Women's University fall 2006 nursing program and would love to hear from any men out there who have gone through the program or will be in the fall 2006 class.

Any information regarding the program is appreciated.

sorry, i applied there but chose a diff school. i have heard nothing but great things about that school. i knew a guy named adam that was going there, he would probably be graduating this coming may. sorry i cant be of more help. gl

My experience with Texas Woman's University's RN program is that it is extremely anti-male. It used to required all BSN students to take a course in "womens studies". I don't know if it still does. In any case, if you are discriminated against because of your male gender, do not expect any help or protection from any state or local agency. In fact, the same encourage discrimination against males in both the traditionally male and traditionally female occupations.

I sued TWU alleging gender discrimination in it's nursing program.

We came to a settlement agreement by essentially dropping the action.

Until both the Federal and State governments give men the same protections against discrimination in the tradtionally female occupations as women receive in the tradtionally male occupations, the number of men entering and remaining in nursing will be minimial.

Go to Excelsior College. It was my experience that, at that college, there is little if any gender discrimination against men in nursing.

Very true.. excelsior is where i'm currently applying to for my LPN to RN. I have up to this far, never experience any sort of discrimination of gender.

I did however experience A LOT of discrimination in my LPN nursing school. Unfortunatly, I believe it's distance in learning that takes the "stereotype" out of the situation.
