TX: TPAPN and seeking jobs

Published

I am a brand new nurse. I had a DWI five years ago and went through a forensic psychology assessment by a board certified psychologist in order to sit for the NCLEX. The board offered me a deal in which I would voluntarily enroll in TPAPN 45 days after passing the NCLEX; part of the verbal conversation was an inference that TPAPN would waive the practice requirements so that I wouldn't be as unattractive to prospective employers. TPAPN never went through with what was inferred, and now I am a new nurse, with a job that I am going to have to resign from, and have no idea how to go about getting another job in order to fulfill my TPAPN work obligations.

Does anybody know about resources, or TPAPN friendly employers in the San Antonio, Austin, Waco areas. I could really care less what it pays, or what field it is in, I just want to nurse.

Any advice would be helpful.

Hey verybadkitty,

Thank you so very much for the information! I received your PM but I guess because I am too new here I cannot reply to your post. I would love to ask you a couple more questions relating to what you shared with me, because you mentioned a facility that is one of the two I would LOVE to work at. Is it possible for you to PM me your email or another way I can contact you since I cannot reply to your PM?

Thank you SO very much and please know how much I appreciate you taking the time to respond to me. = )

Pm'd you again!

Good Morning,

My husband is an RN with a Board Order with very light stipulations. He has mostly psych experience, but no one will hire him, or even respond to his applications because of the board order. Can you recommend a hospital that might consider him for employment? Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

@ajg1117- it would be helpful if we know what state, & what area of that state, you are in! Welcome!

Sorry, I thought it showed that. We are close to Dallas, TX

Possibly DaVita Dialysis. If Dallas is anything like Houston, it is likely that a major hospital system won't hire him until he fulfils his Order and his stipulations are lifted. I have a Warning with Stipulations in Texas and haven't had any luck with major hospital systems, despite being an experienced RN with a BSN.
