Tx bon investigation

Published

OK. Finally got notification of investigation by Tx BNE. They are requesting information regarding my situation. I have been in TPAPN for over a year. I was reported to the Board by my former employer. Their letter is vague, but I certainly know what they are asking for. I don't have an attorney. I have already told TPAPN what I was doing, and went from self referral to third party when the board got notification from my old job. Having said that, they know what happened. I know everyone says get an attorney. Frankly, I would tell others the same...but the disciplinary matrix on the website is pretty clear. I know where I stand on that. What has other Tx nurses experience been on this...lawyer vs no lawyer. I have spent over 30,000 due to lost wages, treatment, drug testing, not to mention unrealized costs. For which I am grateful I had the funds, but I am at a point where I want to acknowledge my addiction, and my recovery, what I am doing now to practice safely and continue in my recovery. Also, if anyone in Texas would private message me the name of their attorney and their experience with them. I have 20 days to reply to this request. Just picking an attorney that I have no knowledge of doesn't seem like the smartest thing to do either. Appreciate your input.

It's not about me. It's for a college of mine who is a LPN. I have a clean record.

I would still suggest changing your pic; you never know when you may "overshare" and find your comments being examined.

I am unable to PM you but I used an attorney and I probably would have gotten the same outcome. TPAPN or suspension 1 yr, probation 2 yrs. E-mail me if you want the name of the attorney tho. He will tell you upfront if he can help. [email protected]

Hi I wasn't sure how to set up my account. Unfortunately, my friend texted me. She got her licenses revoked. Sad

Oh no. So sorry to hear that. I will pray for your friend.

Thank you, were taking it kinda of hard. Its like losing a child.

Absolutely. We work very hard for our careers.

Will she be able to get it back?

It is a possibility. The board will send her a letter ( if they haven't already) explaining that she will have to prove sobriety for a year or longer (depending on her situation). She will then have to petition BON for reinstatement of her license.
