OK. Finally got notification of investigation by Tx BNE. They are requesting information regarding my situation. I have been in TPAPN for over a year. I was reported to the Board by my former employer. Their letter is vague, but I certainly know what they are asking for. I don't have an attorney. I have already told TPAPN what I was doing, and went from self referral to third party when the board got notification from my old job. Having said that, they know what happened. I know everyone says get an attorney. Frankly, I would tell others the same...but the disciplinary matrix on the website is pretty clear. I know where I stand on that. What has other Tx nurses experience been on this...lawyer vs no lawyer. I have spent over 30,000 due to lost wages, treatment, drug testing, not to mention unrealized costs. For which I am grateful I had the funds, but I am at a point where I want to acknowledge my addiction, and my recovery, what I am doing now to practice safely and continue in my recovery. Also, if anyone in Texas would private message me the name of their attorney and their experience with them. I have 20 days to reply to this request. Just picking an attorney that I have no knowledge of doesn't seem like the smartest thing to do either. Appreciate your input.
