TWU Weekend Program Spring 2010 in Dallas

Published

Have been on several threads discussing various Spring 2010 students. This one is specifically for people in the weekend program to help share information about the program and what is going on with the process. I have been accepted and have confirmed with TWU. Waiting to hear about packet which has not arrived yet. Any and all welcome.

Vicki (Waterchickvick),

Thanks so much for you response and advice!!! I am so relieved that I will not be the only student a couple years from now in that situation. :)

Did you go to a community college for your pre-reqs? I noticed that those are the only places that offer most of the pre-req courses online, distance learning, or late evening. I was going to try to go to the Denton campus (heard it increases your chances of getting into the Weekend Program) but the schedules did not allow me to take enough internet and one course per week to drive to Denton to be considered part-time student for financial aid purposes.

I really thank you all for posting information about your first semester in the Weekend Program...it really gives us (ppl who desire to be in the program soon) a true inside look on expectations from Professors and how to manage it all.

One more question, I notice that anyone haven't mentioned how the Sat/Sun clinicals are going? Are you working at Parkland or UTSW?

Again I truly appreciate you responding to my posting...look forward to your responses!

Claudia,

We aren't in clinicals yet. We are in the nursing lab on Saturdays for 4.5 hours. So, if you take patho before nursing school, you will have Pharmocology online and a 4.5 hour lab on Sat only for the first semester. We start hospital work 5 weeks into the summer semester. It will be at Big Baylor. I am not sure where the other clinicals will be after this summer.

Thanks so much Anny!!! It's great to know that the first semester isn't clinicals immediately. This is so amazing and awesome to get this type of information. It is very inspirational. :redpinkhe

Again, I really appreciate you all taking a break from those difficult online courses/onsite courses to answer my questions...I will definitely pay it forward continuously now and even more when I start the program. :)

Patho test---disaster!

Sorry to hear that Plasma. I hope the Pharm test is alright....

Yes, the Patho test was HARD. I looked at the first few questions and about panicked! lol I am going to begin reading Patho as soon as the Pharm exam is over. Hopefully the pharm exam is better.

Dloes anyone know how to prepare for Pharm...do we look over the review or pretty much know everything? Anyone have any background from previous students?

How is the review? I haven't listened to it yet.

Anybody know if we are taking exam 2morrow?

How are we all doing? Everyone surviving the first month???

Hi Sara. I am feeling better after the first two exams. I am going to be glad to have Friday's exam over as well. Then I will know what to expect on that one too. So, so far so good. :-)

Any body know what is up with the quizzes deal in Assessments?
