TWU Weekend Program Spring 2010 in Dallas

Published

Have been on several threads discussing various Spring 2010 students. This one is specifically for people in the weekend program to help share information about the program and what is going on with the process. I have been accepted and have confirmed with TWU. Waiting to hear about packet which has not arrived yet. Any and all welcome.

Hi all,

I hate to cut the thread, but I just have a question for those who have already been through some of the agony. I am currently at A&M Univ. and will be graduating this May 2010 with a degree in Psychology. I am in the process of applying to TWU in order to be able to apply for nursing, and I am just so nervous! First off, what was you all's GPA when applying for the program? I heard something about a GPA around 3.7, however, I will not have that high of a GPA. Most likely, I will have around a 3.4 or so. Will having a GPA like that affect me? I got extremely nervous when someone told me a 3.7, however on TWU's website it says a minimum of a 3.0. I would appreciate anyone's help.

Again, sorry for cutting right in the thread

Hey y'all.

Aggiegirl, are you referring to your GPA for just your nursing pre-reqs (which I think is what TWU looks at, someone correct me if I'm wrong) or your net cumulative? I graduated with like a 3.4 cumulative from UTD for my first degree but my nursing classes were significantly higher, I can't remember what it was exactly (goodness, how can it be too long ago for me to remember correctly... it's not like we've had our brains coming out of our ears the past 2 months or anything). GL!

How hard to you think it will be to secure a job after this program? I did some searches and it looks like the market is dried for new grads. I am a bit worried about the situation. Thoughts?

Anyone know what happens if you don't pass exit hesi on third go?

You should be done with the program at TWU now. Please tell me all about it. I'm just now starting my pre-reqs and I have a full time career in another field that I cannot quit. Did you find it difficult to work? What was the hardest thing about the program? Would you recommend another program like TCU or UTA instead?

How often are the exams in the program?
