TCU/TWU Clinical Sites

Any suggestions on which sites are really good clinical sites from previous students? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Some nurse anesthesia programs are affiliated with a single hospital or two, where all of the SRNA's will rotate through to get their clinical experiences. Some programs, like TWU and TCU, are quite large and have several different clinical sites in different states to accomodate all of their students.

I just found out I was accepted into TCU's program for the upcoming year and I have Valley Baptist in Harlingen, Texas, as my clinical site. I talked to the interviewers and they said this was a good site to get a lot of experience. Anyone have any opinions to that? I actually worked at this hospital as my first job as a nurse about 8 years ago. Nice area, great mexican food, cheap cost of living.

So then how does that work. For instance, one day I hope to apply to TWU and if I were to get accepted (yea right) do I have a say where I do clinicals. I have a wife and kids. Do I do the class room portion and then expect to move the whole family to the clinical site or are they pretty fair about giving ou the same generall area if you have a family.

Harlingen, Texas is just a hop away from Corpus.....good times...!

USMC, you have the opportunity to pick I think your top 3 choices but they ultimately have the decision on where you go. Sometimes you have the opportunity to switch clinical site with someone if they want. Also on the application you can pick a clinical site and say yes I want in only if I can get this clinical site or I want this clinical site but want in either way if I can't get it. Lots of opportunities. Good luck to you

USMC, I notice you are from KC. I am from Lawrence. TWU is a great program, but if you don't want to move your family be sure to consider KU med and UMKC also. Their clinical sites are in KC.

Don't know much about the clinical site except I have heard you do get a lot of experience there.

CONGRATS on your acceptance!!!
