  1. Hey Matt. It's been a while. Shoot me a PM. I have been working 1099. Maybe I can help.
  2. I am from TWU and my primary clinical site is Arrowhead. There are plenty of cases to go around. You are treated as staff and are expected to take about 4 call shifts a month. You will have rotations to Loma Linda for hearts and other complicated cases, Navy for high risk OB, and Kaiser Riverside and/or Kaiser Fontana. The hospital is about 5 years old, so most of the equipment is new. The OB department is much busier now than gaspassah probably experienced. In January there were 322 births. PM me if you have questions.
  3. -I am training at Arrowhead Regional in Ca. -I usually arrive at the hospital around 6:15 to set up my room. -Pre op my 1st pt at 0645 -Report from 0700 - 0730 -In the room with my 1st case at 0745 -If I am lucky, I am relieved at 1500 to go home, but I usually have at least one pre op to do on the floor -If I am un-lucky, I am last on the off list and stay till about 1800, give or take an hour depending on the cases left on the board -Many weeks I have a 16 hour call shift during the week and a 24 hour call shift on the weekends -I have class 2 hours a week, and the rest is all clinical
  4. TWU (Texas Wesleyan University) is only a few miles from downtown Fort Worth. I think you have mistaken TWU to mean Texas Women's University.
  5. I am a current Texas Wesleyan student, and I assure you that there are two TWU clinical sites in Denver. I have friends at each site. I have nothing but positive feedback to give when it comes to the education I am receiving at TWU.
  6. I started at Arrowhead 3 weeks ago. It is a GREAT learning environment, and would recommend the site to any TWU/TCU student.
  7. It's all about being comfortable when you are spending long hours in the classroom. In the summer, I routinely wear shorts, t-shirts and sandals. Most of my classmates are the same way.
  8. BDD Nice meeting you yesterday, and it's good to hear that you were accepted. Congrats to everyone.
  9. I live in the Fossil Ridge area. There are plenty of nice apartment complexes to choose from in this area and the drive to school is about 15 min depending on traffic.
  10. USMC, I notice you are from KC. I am from Lawrence. TWU is a great program, but if you don't want to move your family be sure to consider KU med and UMKC also. Their clinical sites are in KC.
  11. USMC Some nurse anesthesia programs are affiliated with a single hospital or two, where all of the SRNA's will rotate through to get their clinical experiences. Some programs, like TWU and TCU, are quite large and have several different clinical sites in different states to accomodate all of their students.
  12. I go to TWU and don't really see any tension. In fact, a group of us from TWU often gather socialy with a group from TCU.
