  1. Thanks for the clarification Jenniek. We are definately getting a deal.
  2. I also tried to join prior to offically becoming an SRNA. I e-mailed my program director after being accepted because I could not find anything regarding becoming a member prior to offically starting a CRNA program. I was told by my director exactly what heartICU stated in his/her post. In general at your program orientation you will get an AANA application to fill out. Located on the back page is a section which must be signed and submitted by your program director, confirming that you are an enrolled student in an accredited CRNA program. SRNA membership is only $20 per year in contrast to $495 that CRNA's pay annually.
  3. I too am investigating financial aid resources. I don't know many details about this particular loan yet, but here is what I know. Wells Fargo has a MedCap Alternative loan for Health Professionals. I beleive you can borrow up to $100,000. The interest rate is approx. 5.25%. Details can be found through this website www.mtmc.edu/financialaid/alternativeloanscontacts.html I hope this helps.
  4. It seems that many of the posts on this forum, mine included, are related to individuals wanting to know specifics about certain schools (interview process/questions/format, number of applicants, line/regional experience, clinical sites, living experience, etc.). It would be nice to have one searchable thread that contains answers to these questions as they relate to individual programs. Please do not make this a "my school is better than yours" thread. I just want honest information from people that have first hand experience about their program to assist myself and others with the difficult decision of choosing a program. Those who feel they can contribute please do so. In particular I would like information on Mount Marty College, South Dakota. As an aside I have searched the AANA website thouroughly.
  5. I frequently use The ICU Book 2nd edition by Paul L. Marino. It may be a little more in depth than some of the other reccommended books, however, I find it very readable and valuable.

  7. I did a forum search and was unable to find much about Mount Marty, SD. It has a 2 year accredation and is probably not one of the more well known schools. However, I like the program for several reasons (simulator, Master of science, regional/line exp., possible clinical rotation in my wifes home town). Does anyone know someone who is or has attended. What were their opinions of the school?
  8. I am currently preparing my application for admittance into TWU anesthesia program next fall. The application asks that you select your top four clinical choices. I know little to nothing about most of them. Which clinical sites would you recommend?
