Hi!
I haven't seen a thread made for the TWU Spring 2018 application process, so decided to start one! I'm the type to worry, and I know I'm not alone, so what better place to vent than here? For anyone wondering, the application date for Spring 2018 is August 15th, 2017!
My GPA comes out to a 3.720 with TWU preference. I haven't taken my TEAs yet, but plan to soon.
How about y'all?
Can anyone living in Houston give me some insight on the area? Never been. Apparently living near campus is quite expensive- what are some affordable areas and apartments in those areas that have a less than 30 minute commute? Is the campus located in north or south Houston? Thanks in advance!!

If you can, join the Facebook group (TWU Houston Nursing Class of December 2019). There is some info on that starting to trickle in.
TWU Houston doesn't have dorms. I recommend using an apartment search company and let them search for you. It should be free for you; they get commissioned through the apartments. Hurricane Harvey has destroyed many apartments, especially those on the first floor near bayous, so I don't know how crazy the market is right now.
TWU is on the south edge of the Medical Center. There are TONS of condos and apartments in the area, it is full of students and employees. The area zip codes are 77030, 77054, and 77025. To me, Houston has 2 downtowns; the business/oil downtown in the north and the med center in the south. They are not far apart.
If you are concerned about crime, go to crimereports.com and type in a zip code. TWU is 77030. You can zoom out from there. For sex offender list, go to https://records.txdps.state.tx.us/SexOffenderRegistry. It'll give you a snap shot of the city.
For home/condo rental, you can try Texas Real Estate - 182,265 Homes for Sale and Rent- HAR.com.
Many students use the MetroRail (ridemetro.org) and/or use their bikes down the bayou trails to work or school.
Actually I am looking for someone to take over my lease in my apartment, but first I need to make sure my apartment is ok. My complex was affected by Harvey and I'm waiting to hear from the apartment adjuster about the condition of the complex. I only want to sublease it if everything is fine with the building...because that would be mean otherwise! It is about 10-15 minutes from TWU. Crossing my fingers...
