TWU Spring 2010

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Is anyone out there applying to TWU for the Spring of 2010? Just thought that I would start a group for all of us hopefuls so we could share information and have a way to communicate with each other.

Have you taken your HESI A2 yet? Have you taken all of your pre-reqs? If not, what do you have left to take?

I have taken all of my pre-reqs, and I just took my HESI yesterday. I didn't think it was bad at all, but I prepared for it for about 3 weeks.

If you haven't noticed, TWU has made some slight changes that I think some people will not be happy with. They are taking into consideration the first grade made at pre-req attempts for several of the classes like A&P, micro, and another class. What do you think of this? I wonder how it will change the applicants chances of getting in?

Good luck and I look forward to meeting you!

hey i was in Dr. *****s class in Fall 2007 too. Elizabelle, maybe you were in my class.

lol, that's funny. u know what is amazing to me? I started the uta thread like a month before i started this one, and this one has waaaay more responses/hits than that board does. like triple the number. twu must be way more popular among students or uta students just don't get on this site.

well who can beat the amenities of the med center? :wink2:

I guess I really should buy that HESI study guide....I think I'll be taking the HESI late July I think.

u really don't have too buy the book if you study notes from a&p class, bio, gen chem, etc...but getting the book just made me feel comfortable having it, ya know? like a baby blanket lol. i recommend it, but it's not a "must".

Saturdays? I took both on Saturdays. A lot of us took I & II on Saturdays, but I have lost touch with all those folks, since I took a semester off last fall to have my daughter. I finished up micro this spring, which was my last prereq. Now I am just retaking 2 classes (govt, hist) to get my gpa up to over a 3.8. I hope it's enough!!

Hey,

Just so you guys know (I'm not saying don't study!) but the A&P portion of the HESI is very general. It is very easy to figure out what the answer is (if you do not know it) by elimination of answers. All of the answers are so different from each other.

What did you feel was the most difficult portion of the HESI? Was there anything you wish you had studied more? Or did you feel confident about all the sections? I got the HESI study guide and it certainly does look very general. So that is encouraging. But I am one of those folks who likes to overprepare. ;-)

After I took it I realized that I should have practiced with the math a bit more (so I did not take as long during the exam). Also, the Chemistry is very general too, but I should have studied that a bit more. The grammar/reading/vocab is very simple and fairly easy. You really cannot study for the critical thinking section.

Yes i took her on saturday's at NCTC. i was in the there with a girl who had a little boy named ******. A bigger guy who just needed a D to pass. Some older women.

Yep - that was my class! I just PM'd you...

I have the NET review guide... do you think that the HESI portion of grammar is similar to the NET's?

Okay, just a quick question!

When they calculate our pre-nursing GPA, in addition to the sciences/psych/stats, they include the grades from History I/II and Government I/II, right?
