TWU Spring 2021 Applicants

Nursing Students School Programs

Hello everyone,

Are you applying to Houston, Dallas traditional, or Dallas N&W? I am applying to TWU Dallas traditional in August for Spring 2021. Right now I am finishing up some nursing core classes and I plan on taking the TEAS over the Summer if corona virus allows it. I also have TWU preference points that helped my admission score a lot.

What is your admission score? As of Spring 2020 admissions, to calculate your admission score, you can use the Google spread sheet. Download the file to put in your classes and grades.

My advisor said that the competitive range is between 50 and 55 for Dallas traditional.

Awesome! You should definitely not have a problem getting into the Dallas program with a competitive score like that! ?

Do you mind sharing what your TEAS composite score was if already taken, as well as any tips on how you studied for it?

I got a 92% overall. Took both A&P courses last year, and I reviewed all the subjects using the Mometrix prep book + Pocket Prep trial for less than a week. The practice tests and questions were super helpful. Probably could have done better if I studied more though! There were several very specific A&P questions that I had to recall from when I took the classes. But I still did better on the science section than english and reading comp LOL. Definitely review specific grammar rules and don't go by what sounds right...

Thanks for the info! I’m actually currently using the Pocket Prep, which I went ahead and purchased a three month subscription to use as a study tool. I also purchased an ATI TEAS study manual through their website, and was planning on using the Mometrix study guide as well. I’m allowing myself a month to prep for it, and plan on taking the exam towards the end of June.

Is there a limit on how many times you can retake a class?

Per their website, we can only use the UTH code twice but not sure on how many times we can retake in general ?

I’m sorry, I was referring to the limit of retake on courses

Does anyone know when NursingCAS is going to open for TWU? I tried adding it today but the program didn't pop up.

I emailed advising last week and they said “hopefully” end of last week but so far, nothing.
I keep checking daily.

Does anyone know for sure if there are Summer semesters for TWU? I know it says the program is 2 years after pre-reqs but there are only 4 semesters on the degree plan.

During my call with the advisor, I understood that summers were off, as they would be in a traditional BSN/ four-year degree. This program isn’t accelerated.

the app is finally in NursingCAS!

I am starting the long process of applying. I have been to several colleges because I transferred during my first degree and then with starting the ADN, but switching to BSN. Do I have to input every single class I have ever taken into CAS? And not only do I have to pay to request my transcripts from previously colleges to just apply to TWU, I also have to do it to CAS? Thanks!
