Hey guys! I wanted to start a forum for us twu spring 2012 hopefuls!
About me
I have a 3.2, yikes! :sofahider, and after this summer it should come up to a 3.6 or 7 and I am studying my butt off for the teas and will only have 3 more classes after that to take. I have gotten into the university as the first step, but I am so worried about getting into the nursing program, fingers crossed
Hey Dallas people... where do I find total costs of tuition? I looked on FAQS and they give undergraduate but just curious if that is the same for nursing? I am sure we will get all that in our packets but I really want to get started on Financial Aid.
I think you will have to wait for the packet. If you look at FAQ's on the Dallas Nursing section, it just takes you to the general list, but I am sure it is similar. Maybe make an appt this week to meet with a financial aid advisor, it would probably help you get everything you can.
Also, I noticed that there are a few Nursing scholarships now available for 2011-2012. One of them, HRSA scholarship, has an application deadline of Nov 7th, so get on that if you have been accepted. There is another one HNEF, that has a deadline of Nov. 18th. Good luck!
twoy83 - You got accepted to UTHSC? If so Congrats, I thought the acceptance letters weren't going out yet. If you don't mind me asking, what is your GPA and how did you do on the HESI? I'm just curious what all they are looking at since they don't do interviews anymore.
To everyone else who has applied and been accepted in TWU - What pre-reqs do they have that are different from UTHSC & TWU? I understand that they want something additional beyond what the other schools require, but for some reason I cannot seem to find out exactly what is different. When I look at their website it seems there are several classes that they require additionally for the BSN. PLEASE HELP!!

To all the people that haven't heard anything.. don't lose hope! Remember this is just the first round and other people that were accepted could possibly turn down TWU and pick other schools.
I am also a second degree student that had a horrible GPA, but once I found out that I wanted to be a nurse I busted my butt getting the best grades possible for the prereqs. I know it is a lost cause finding out how they accept people but I really do think first attempts take in a HUGE factor. I got 3 out of 4 of first attempts. I am beyond excited and nervous all at the same time. Congrats to everyone that has gotten in so far! Can't wait to meet all the people that got accepted into Dallas!!
