Hey guys! I wanted to start a forum for us twu spring 2012 hopefuls!

About me

I have a 3.2, yikes! :sofahider, and after this summer it should come up to a 3.6 or 7 and I am studying my butt off for the teas and will only have 3 more classes after that to take. I have gotten into the university as the first step, but I am so worried about getting into the nursing program, fingers crossed :uhoh3:

@nela87....no worries about the TEAS score a 69 should be acceptable! I got a 68% on TEAS V, a 3.75 in science gpa and a 3.583 in core gpa and was accepted. I also have psych experience and another degree in psych. So just take a deep breathe...and channel your inner Buddha!

Congrats to those of you who got accepted and to those who have not heard yet, don't fret. From what I have been told, they send out the letters in groups. They send out a certain amount of letters first and then wait to hear how many plan to attend. Based on that, they send out the second round of letters and so on. A friend of my classmate didn't get her letter of acceptance until mid Christmas break so hang in there! ;)

As far as grades and TEAS, from what I have been told, they put far more weight on the first attempts at A&P, Micro and Stats than the TEAS and GPA scores. I also understand that if you are a second degree student that it benefits greatly regardless of if you took classes at TWU or another school. My advisor told me that they have there own system in figuring out who they think is a good fit for the school and they do not disclose that to anyone outside of the department. So I think that trying to figure out why/how is a lost cause. Just hang in there. I know it's so much easier said than done but it will all work out! :hug::hug:

@L8blumer Thank you for sending the positive throughts this way. I got a 3.7 GPA. Hopefully I hear something. I'm not sure if they even sent out all the letters today or not! What campus did you apply to? I applied to Dallas. I have an AS in Science Degree.

How many people took their pre-reqs at TWU? I know you get a bump in gpa for that. I know there is no way to know for sure how they decide things, I was just curious. Also, how late in the day do you think they would be sending emails? Still waiting and slowly dying....

Yeah I sure hope so! The Dallas campus seems to have ALOT of competitive scores with alot of 4.0 GPA's and 80's and 90's in the TEAS. We will see!! :) Thanks again.

I am so excited to start nursing school! :) How many of you had TWU as your first choice school? I don't even have a first choice picked out.. :/ lol
