Nursing Students School Programs
Published Jul 16, 2018
Just about a year early here, but I wanted to create a thread for Fall 2019 applicants. This is my first time joining a nursing forum; so, let's give it a shot.

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone knew for sure how AP credits from high school were counted on the Nursing Excel Spreadsheet? I was told by one nursing adviser, **********, over email and phone that AP credits count as TWU credits "cr" and not transfer credits "tcr". However, another nursing adviser told me he had no idea and had entered in my credits as "tcr" in the spreadsheet.
I transferred to TWU this fall to finish my prerequisites and was at UTD the year before. However, I never applied my AP credits until I transferred to TWU for the first time so I am hoping my AP credits will be counted as TWU credits so I can get the bump for TWU preference. I plan to make another advising appointment in January after grades from this semester are made official to have the advisers check my score again on the spreadsheet.
Nursing Core GPA:
3.86
Prerequisites GPA:
3.91
TEAS: (Am retaking this December)
84% Composite
Admission Score:
64.21

yes double check with an advisor (im unsure) and if your admission score is 64 (after you check) i wouldn't bother retaking the TEAS
Thanks! I was just really anxious when the adviser I met up with today wasn't sure about the answer to my question about AP credit. I just emailed nursing adviser ********* for a third opinion. Spring 2019 scores were lower than those of Fall 2018 so I'm hoping it'll also be lower as well for Fall 2019.

If you are retaking your teas. would you like to study together? I am in dallas too :)

I'm currently living in the dorms at TWU in Denton and I'm studying for finals right now, sorry! Mostly I'm just reviewing my Mometrix study book and A&PII notes for the science portion since that was my worst.

I am applying to TWU Dallas campus for Fall 2019. I am currently studying for my ATI TEAS now, and plan on taking it at the end of December. Anyone around the SMU area wanting to study together?
Hey I would love to study together. I live in Allen, we can meet in the middle somewhere.

Don't forget that they take your most recent score, not your best score. So if for some reason you do worse this next time around, they won't take the better of the two! (Just wanted to make sure you knew, in case you didn't already) Good luck!

Is anyone planning on going to the information session on December 14th? I'll be coming up from College Station with my boyfriend (who would rather sleep in than come with me to the session) and I'd love someone to sit with!

I thought you could choose to submit your scores to them off of the ATI website? So wouldn't you be able to pick which score to send?
No, it will show how many attempts and which attempt you're sending ex: attempt 1/2
