Just about a year early here, but I wanted to create a thread for Fall 2019 applicants. This is my first time joining a nursing forum; so, let's give it a shot.

Wow... it seems many people applied to Houston campus...
yes, it was alot of people applying to houston on the Spring 2019 board...but it seems Houston is "more competitive" in the Spring...from looking at past boards on here...i could be wrong though

I still don't understand how TWU choose applicants. Do they just rely on admission score or any other criteria?

Thao Ho -
They choose who gets accepted based on admission score only. The only factors that apply to your admission score is your prereq GPA, TEAS score, and any bumps you have from either: 1) 32 credit hours earned at TWU or 2) Prior bachelors degree by the time you START the program, not by the time the application is due. So, if the app is due in February and you're expected to graduate in May, you will receive the bump. You can calculate your admission score by going to twu.edu and searching "nursing worksheet". There is also a PDF with instructions for how to fill it out. Best of luck :)
*Also, the advising staff at TWU, while impossible to get a face-to-face appt with, is incredibly helpful over email with answering specific questions about the program. Go to TWU's website and find the advising page, you can find more info there

Hello everyone, I'll be applying to Fall 2019. According to the excel sheet I have about 43 points. So do we have to apply to TWU on ApplyTexas and the nursing school through NursingCAS? Im going to prospective meeting in December so I will probably get these answers then.
yes, you have to apply to TWU through ApplyTexas and after you get accepted to TWU school, you can then apply to the nursing program via NursingCas because you will need your TWU student ID # to apply
Thank you!

Thank you for your information! So that means transfer students will have some difficulties My point is 47.97 and I don't really feel confident with it (no bumps or prior bachelors)...
which campus are you applying to?
Houston campus.

Hello Everyone,
I am applying for Fall 2019 for the Dallas program. I really hope its not as competitive as last year.
Here are my stats:
Nursing Core: 4.0
Pre req: 4.0
Have a previous Bachelors Degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology from UTD
No TWU preference
I have not taken my TEAS yet. I really hope I can do well on the Teas and anyone out there willing to tutor?
Has anyone submitted their application yet? I plan to submit mine once grades are posted from this current semester. I also plan to attend the nursing info session in Dec!
