TWU Nursing Applicants - Fall 2019

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Just about a year early here, but I wanted to create a thread for Fall 2019 applicants. This is my first time joining a nursing forum; so, let's give it a shot.

Hi everyone!

im applying to the Dallas traditional with 84.7 teas and a 3.86 prerequisite gpa. I have twu preference so my score is a 60.40!

Good luck!!

I’m applying to the weekend & evening program with 48.76 points.

I’m a transfer student from the University of Oklahoma, so unfortunatley, no TWU bump or previous bachelors degree:/

I know the lowest accepted last year was 48.3, so hopefully I have a chance of getting in? Good luck everyone!!!

Hey all,

I submitted my application yesterday, I wanted to re-take my TEAS but time did not allow this semester.

Nursing GPA: 4.00

Prerequisite GPA: 4.00

TEAS Scores:

Overall Composite: 84.0

Reading: 95.7

Math: 87.5

Science: 70.2

Language: 87.5

Overall Admission Score: 48.3

Really doubt that I'll get in due to my TEAS scores and the fact that I'm a transfer student. I was really dissapointed in myself because I know I could've done way better. I still submitted my application though since I worked so hard for this. I'll probably be applying again for 2020 Spring semester, but good luck to everyone. Wishing you all acceptance!

Which campus/program are you applying for?

I applied for the Dallas Traditional, almost wishing I’d applied to Houston and just figured out how make a move work. I’m just frustrated with the process at TWU at this point and I’d wished I’d done better on my TEAS. I only studied for like 6 total hours so it’s kinda my fault anyways.

Just got an email that my application has been verified with no changes needed. I submitted on Saturday 1/12 so it’s taking about a week right now.

Did TWU email you that it was verified or nursing CAS?

Nursing CAS. My advisor confirmed they had my application and there were no issues.

I know, it stinks not having the bump! I think there’s still a chance that you can get into Dallas this year. I’ve heard that some lower scores are accepted through the waitlist. Last fall was really competitive, but this spring the lowest accepted was like 51.4! So I’m sure you still have a shot! And your gpa is awesome, so even if you don’t get in, then you can easily study for the TEAS & raise your score a ton for the spring 2020 application & get to stay in Dallas! It’s crazy how fast your admission score raises with just doing a little better on the teas!

That's exactly the plan! I did a bunch of messing around on the excel sheet and I think if I do better on the science by about 10-15 points and maybe move the math up a couple more I can get around 53-55 points for my Admission Score! If I had the bump I'd have 66 points with my current stats, which sucks! But, just staying positive and I know I can do better on the TEAS the second go around so if I don't get in I have a game plan! Appreciate all your encouragement!!

Guys, I think something in my application on NursingCas messed up. For some reason all my terms and conditions were selected "no" instead of "yes". I think when I resubmitted my application, it automatically changed my answers. Does anyone know what I can do to fix it?

hmm..are you sure its all of them and not just the top half? does it give you an option to update your application? I would email the advisors and see, not sure why it would change your answers to no if you selected yes because I would assume it would save all that and only change what you updated...either way to be safe i would contact a nursing advisor

Hopefully today they start processing applications and the eligibility emails start rolling out...im soooo nervous ?

The questions on the core standards got changed to no. I would never select no. I just emailed the advisor. Im going to call NursingCAS. ?
