TWU Houston Fall 2009

Published

I could not for the life of me find a thread for people who were going to be going to Houston in the fall, so here we go.

I was going out for the fast track 2009 in Dallas, got denied and put back in the fall applicant pool, then BAM:D, got hit with the shocker last night when I got home from work that I had been accepted to the regular BSN program in Houston.

I'm really excited to start a new chapter and I thought this would be a good way to meet other members of the class before we get there. So shout out where you're from and your background so we can all get to know each other before August!

(P.S.- I've also been accepted to the community college in my hometown, which is closer, cheaper, and probably going to be easier, but I think it would be borderline offensive to turn down such an awesome offer, let me know what you think)

M-Cabos the number you should call for immunizations is 940-898-3825. That is what I did and found out that all I needed was the Varicella Titer.

Everyone, do you think we should dress professional OR jeans and a nice t-shirt (for me I want to wear my TWU shirt...LOL)?

Ok people i just got off the phone with TWU houston campus and they said that Jeans and Shirt is fine. No need to wear professional outfits. YEAH!! I can wear my TWU shirt. LOL Also I am not sure if anyone was aware of this but we also have two more seminars to attend in August. One on the 27th from 8-12:30 and the other is on the 28th from 8-5. I was told by the student life department that you must attend both seminars even if you took a Patho. during the summer.

I will be so excited to meet you guys! :)

I can't wait either. It feels so good that I will be going to school with some really helpful and nice people. Thanks!!!

thnx eamay...I found out i need the varicella titter too...well at least now i know.

emaya, how much did you pay for your varicella titer?

m-cabos - no problem.

Sophia - Well all I have to pay is for my co-pay because my husband carries insurance for us. Normally I would not pay anything and our Insurance Carrier would pay 100% but I need to see the doctor for my well women's exam. Sorry I am not much help.

Well... i am currently living in Austin, it is not worth to drive to houston. :)

However, i got a good deal on all of my vaccinations which cost like $10 for all of them. I did with through the government program provided by city of Austin. :)
