TWU Houston Fall 2011 Accepted

Hello and Congratulations!!! I'm in too and super excited. :lol2: So we're officially class of May 2013?!?!

Here's a question, is anyone planning on taking Patho at TWU over the summer? If it is offered I think I am going to try and get it out of the way =D

Yep Class of Spring 2013 I suppose! :)

I don't think I am going to take any classes this summer, but thats a good idea. I just want the summer off before intense nursing school starts!!

I understand. I want this summer off too!!! But with 3kids I need to keep this school momentum going lol. I have to look at the schedule and see when and if they will offer it before I make my final choice!!! :rolleyes:

So many things to do!!! Do you know where we can find the list of immunizations?

I called the Houston office and they havent set a date for orientation yet but plan to have two, one in early/mid may and one in Aug sometime.

Is anyone CPR certified? My certification expired awhile back and I need to do the classes again. Is anyone planning on get their CPR certification anytime soon?

Thanks for the immunization info!!! My CPR is still good but it'll obviously expire before we finish so I may go ahead and renew it.

Two orientations? FUN...lol...does anyone know @ how much we are looking at as far as cost...per semester atleast?

DMShopefull - I completely understand that, too! Let me know what you find out about when it's offered. Since I have now heard a few people say it is best to get it out of the way I might have to look into that! :) You're a rockstar for doing this with 3 kids!! :)

I am not sure if this is specific to the nursing program or what...

Ebmi - I need to get certified too. I haven't done it yet because I am actually not too sure about where to go to have it done. If you have any information to share, that'd be great.

First of all, congratulations to all of you on your acceptance to TWU!!

Do you know what the schedule at TWU is? I figured since you have been accepted you might have a better idea of how their program works, specifically the Houston one. Will you get next summer off? And if you were to start in the spring, does it run straight through to next spring (no summer off)?

I also have a schedule question for those of you that are currently students or have been accepted. I plan to apply most likely next fall for TWU, UT Houston and Texas A & M. I am trying to find out roughly what the class schedules are like. I had read in a different post that you are basically stuck with what they give you the first semester, then they use a pull system for the following semesters so you get to choose from whatever is available when it's your turn. Is this very accurate?

We have a 3 year old daughter and my husband recently took a job working 60-65 hours a week, so I'm a bit concerned about just getting handed a schedule and being expected to drop life in order to accommadate it.

I'd appreciate any insight that any of you may have.

TWU is off during the summers. If you start Fall...it's Fall Spring Fall Spring. If you start Spring...it's Spring Fall Spring Fall.

I've just been accepted so we won't find out much about our schedules until orientation.
