TWU Fast-Track: I got in!

Published

I was so shocked when I checked my mail today b/c I got an acceptance letter from TWU! I didn't think their letters were going out until April. I was actually checking to see if I had gotten anything from TCU because someone mentioned in another thread that their accelerated BSN letters might go out this week.

I really can't believe that I got in! It was my first choice. It's almost like a dream. I was getting incredibly discouraged considering how incredibly difficult it is to get in! I'm still trying to process it...

Anyone else heard from TWU? I'd love to hear from you!

Congrats!!! I too applied to TWU,but for the regular BSN. I haven't received my letter yet, hopefully I will soon! Did it say anything about GPA or how many people were accepted? Was it thick or thin?

Congratulations J!

congrats! enjoy your life while you still can - out of our 20 fast trackers, less than 14 graduated on time - it's intense!

14 out of 20 seems to be a good rate statistically :)

I'm betting the letters for the regular BSN won't go out until April, since that's what they kept telling us when I was there to take the NET in January. I assumed they were referring to the fast-track as well, but apparently not. In my letter, they told me that if I didn't want to do the fast-track that I should call the admissions coordinator so they could put my application back into the regular BSN pool, so it sounds like they haven't even narrowed it down yet. So there's still time for you! And my letter was thick, by the way. About 10 pages folded in half.

Thanks to everyone for the congrats! I am so excited and nervous at the same time. From everything that I've read about the accelerated BSN programs, I'm going to have to kiss the life that I once knew goodbye for the next 15 months starting in May!

Congrats!!! That's such great news! I am waiting to hear from El Centro, but I did get an email from a friend that I had AP1 with and she also got into the TWU Fast Track starting in May. Her name is Brittani - she is great!

Have a wonderful 15 months!

Thanks! And good luck to you, too, with getting into El Centro's program. After quitting my day job to go back to school, I had no idea how competitive nursing school was. I went to El Centro to enroll in A&P and was showing this crazy old lady advisor my transcript from my BA at TCU (had a 3.76), and she was like "Ohhh, honey you have to have a 4.0 to get into nursing school." I thought that she was going to be impressed with me graduating magna cum laude, and she so obviously wasn't! After that meeting, I was like, "Oh, holy crap, what have I gotten myself into?!" Luckily it has all worked out!

Hey - I was accepted in TWU's Fast Track program as well. I applied to nursing school at TWU in 2003 but I was never accepted (the competition back then was cut-throat). I was a student up in Denton, so I changed my major and completed a degree there. I'm so glad I was accepted this time around!!:w00t:

Hi, I was wondering what was your GPA when you got accepted to the TWU Fast Track Program? I'm applying for the Fast track program in houston and a little bit worried that I won't make it in. I have a 3.7, not sure if thats good enough. Thanks for all your help
