TWU Fall 2018 Nursing Applicants

Published

Hey guys, I know it's a little early, however, I decided to start this thread as the application process will be soon upon us.

How are you studying for the TEAS?

Wishing all the best! :)

Hi Everyone! This is my first post on allnurses, I have been following it for a little while, I guess I could be called a lurker. :) I have applied for the fall 2018 traditional program at TWU and am anxiously waiting with all of you! My stats for application are: nursing core GPA of 3.6, TEAS is 89.3% and a previous degree. I think my points on the sheet are somewhere in the range of 51 to 56. I have a applied also to UTA but my first choice is TWU. I wish all of you the very best of luck and hope we will find out soon.

I really hope we find out next week.

I really hope we find out next week.

Do you think they would let us know during spring break?

I heard from someone it was the16th. But I was gonna email Mrs.Close to make sure.

I went up to the Nursing admissions office and they said that's it's more likely that we'll hear AFTER Spring Break! :(

Nooo. I hope it's before my birthday í ½í¸

Got the email about being eligible for admission consideration! Y'all this is so nerve racking!!

I also just received the email about being eligible for consideration, now to keep patiently waiting. :) Are there other applicants for the fall 2018 program who are making a career change?

For the people who have just recently received an email for being eligible for consideration; I have a theory that they are processing the applications in alphabetical order (not sure if this is true). Do you mind sharing the first initial of your last name? My last name is towards the end and I am curious to see where they are at if my theory is true. I have not received anything from TWU yet and I am getting antsy :///

I got my email for application consideration February 12 and my last name starts with a B!

So I am super nervous about getting in. I have a 3.36 GPA, an 83 on the TEAS, prior Bachelor's Degree in Public Health, and an Internship in a medical clinic. I don't know if I have a chance of getting in or not, so if anyone has any idea, I would love the advice! Also if we are for some reason put on the waitlist or denied, will they also contact us as well?

They have an Excel sheet that will calculate your points to see where you stand. Scroll down to the very bottom of the page and click on "Prerequisite Advising Worksheet XLXS," there are also clickable instructions; here is the link for that:

Bachelor of Science (BS) with a major in Nursing - Texas Woman's University

These were the stats from this past Spring:

Preliminary stats/averages for Spring 2018 are the following:

Dallas (396 total applicants)

Lowest admitted score: 49.9

Avg. GPA: 3.75

Avg. TEAS: 86.9%

Houston (502 total applicants)

Lowest admitted score: 44.1

Reading some of the other pages from previous cycles, I'm pretty sure they will contact us either way (whether we get in/are denied/etc.). Good luck to you!
