TWU Fall 2011 Hopefuls

Hello! Just wanted to start a thread for those applying to the college of Nursing at Texas Woman's University. Who already goes there? What do you have left to take? Are you nervous... etc!

My name is Alli, I will start at TWU, not the nursing program, this summer. Moving to Denton with my husband. I can't wait!

I also got into the TWU's Nursing Weekend Program for Fall 2011. Is the packet that we are expecting to receive for the weekend program be of the same time with the packet for the traditional program? Have they started releasing the packet for the weekend program? Hope to hear from you!

Hi GUS2011,

I'm not sure when the Weekend Program information will be sent. I don't work with that program as much as I do the traditional program. Have you tried giving them a call? Just call the main number (214.689.6510) and ask to speak with the Weekend Program secretary. I'd give you her name, but I think that's against the message board rules, even though it's just information!

Hi everyone! Just recently received my acceptance to TWU Houston! I am beyond excited as I'm sure the rest of you feel! I was wondering if most of you will be commuting or plan to move near the school? I live about 30-45 minutes away and just wanted to weigh out my options.. Any feedback would be great!

just found out I got accepted!!keep checking your email!!!! Don't lose hope!! I was told that I was on the waitlist.

I was wondering if most of you will be commuting or plan to move near the school? I live about 30-45 minutes away and just wanted to weigh out my options.. Any feedback would be great!

Congrats to you! I just checked my email and found out I got accepted!!SO EXCITED!!

I plan to stay where I am now. I heard someone will take the metro. I think some routes will directly take u to the medical center. Driving will be crazy because of the heavy traffic. Parking is also expensive at medical center. I live in west Houston area about 40 minutes from TWU.

Out of curiosity, did they email you telling you that you were waitlisted, or did you call and ask? :)

I will be commuting as well. I live about 40 minutes east...& that's with flowing traffic but with a family, moving is not an option. I am just looking at it as if I were commuting to work and taking a deep breath. I am going to be looking for the cheapest place to park though :)

Hi Alyallen, I am new to Houston too, I moved down here in january. I just google the locations of park and ride. http://www.ridemetro.org/schedulesmaps/parkride.aspx

Please take a look and I hope u can find one route near u. I just started looking and we can discuss more in the future posts or in facebook. Hope it helps.

Found out tuesday that i got in, apparently i was in the second round of extended offers. SO EXCITED!! got in with a 3.3 without the bump, but i did well on the TEAS exam. Made a FB page as i didn't see one made already. if you would like to join, still working on the page, so it will get better!
