TWU Fall 2022 Applicants

Published

I have not seen a forum for the Fall 2022 cycle, so I decided to make this one. What is everyone’s stats? Have y’all completed the application due on February?

Has anyone already completed their background check?

Hello,

I have requested the background check but it has not been completed. I just emailed advising to see if it’ll be a problem to apply without it being completed. Once I receive a response, I’ll share. ☺️

The admissions office responded:

”If you’ve submitted the background check, you’ll be okay. But just make sure it was submitted. It doesn’t necessarily have to be done processing by the deadline. Same way your application doesn’t necessarily have to be verified by the deadline. But will need to become verified within a reasonable time frame. After which, you’d receive  an email from somebody within the College of Nursing detailing what’s missing and how long you have to resolve the issue or respond.”

Yup mine was completed a few weeks ago. I don't think it matters if it's been completed by the application deadline, just make sure you've already requested it.

Does anybody know when they start sending out emails?

Good luck to everyone!

I checked the discussion board for last years Fall applicants and most people stated they received acceptance emails in April (early to mid).

GOOD LUCK to everyone ??

ugh they're really going to make us wait two months ?

good luck!

Hey! I applied to the Houston Campus. Stats:

Science GPA: 4.0

Pre-req GPA: 4.0

TEAS: 92%

no preference

admission score: 56.77

Work experience as a patient care technician for about 7 months

I hope I get in with these Stats. I saw the difference in my score when I put a "yes" for preference and that 18 point difference is really scaring me ?. Has anyone received an eligibility email yet? I saw last years application cycle forum talking about this.

I was able to use the spreadsheet posted above to calculate and it appears the prerequisite GPA does not affect the point system.
I totaled at 44.10 points, I am not too happy about it, but will try my hardest on the short answer responses and hope for the best.
I am curious to see what will end up mattering more, the holistic (short answer) or the grades.

I talked to an advisor about the short answer questions and asked him about how much this may weigh into the decision. He said that they most likely will be looking at grammer and writing ability. Not sure how accurate this is but this was what I was told during an application review meeting.

I am putting a lot of hope on my short answer responses. I worked on them for 2 weeks since my numbers were pretty low. I am really hoping they actually read them and take into consideration what we wrote and not just analyze whether we can write.

In last years discussion responses weren’t received until April.

Yeah, they will probably still will take the content into account a lot, especially the ones about care, resilience, and leadership. I think that is just what he was assuming since they are all still new to the holistic approach (essays and work experience).

Also I know they get decisions much later on, but apparently they all got eligibility emails beforehand to let them know if TWU has everything from them and they are eligible to be considered? Some people were saying they are sent out in alphabetical order?

Yes I read about the eligibility emails in a PDF an advisor sent me. It said once an application has been reviewed, applicants will receive an eligibility/ineligibility email. Applicants who receive an ineligible email will have five days to respond, otherwise they forfeit their chance to contest their eligibility status. Applicants who receive an eligible email do not need to respond to the email.

yeah I heard something like that from other applicants. I want an eligibility letter to come in already just to know that they are looking ?.
