TWU Fall 2022 Applicants

Published

I have not seen a forum for the Fall 2022 cycle, so I decided to make this one. What is everyone’s stats? Have y’all completed the application due on February?

Hello! I just submitted my application today for the Houston Campus. My stats are:

Overall GPA: 3.95

Science GPA: 4.0

TEAS: 87.3%

Does anyone happen to have the excel sheet to calculate your point score for admission? I tried finding it in other forums from previous terms but whenever I click on the link it says that it can't be found or the page was removed.

I am also doubtful of my TEAS score. I did speak with an advisor and was told a competitive score was around an 87 and I've seen other forums where the average applicants' points were about a mid-40. I am also a transfer student so I do not get the point boost. Are my scores enough to get accepted?

HI!

I have the sheet. A TWU Dallas advisor gave it to me (I don't think it'd be different from Houston). I am not sure about Houston's competitiveness as I have only spoken to a Dallas advisor. However your GPA is really good which will help your overall points.

For those of you applying to the Dallas campus, if you get rejected and you chose to be considered for the Houston campus after that during your application, do they take points off for having it as your second choice campus vs students who put Houston as their first choice in the application? Just curious

I don’t think so. However, to be considered for the Houston campus you had to put yes to that option in the application.

Darn, I should have done this instead of what I did. But I don't think you can change this after the application is submitted.  Did you choose to be considered for the Houston campus? I assume you applied to the Dallas campus.

I did not choose to be considered for the Houston campus. I’ve seen in past forums people  talk about their acceptance to Houston after being denied to Dallas. However, now with the new holistic questions approach, I wonder how that plays into their decision.

I wonder the same thing, their admission system must have a little changed since they added these questions.

Hi all,

I’m applying for the WEP with a 50 point admission score. I do not have prior experience but I have a previous Bachelors degree in social work. Do y’all think I have a shot of getting in?

Hello,

I am applying to the weekend program as well and my admission score is 50.49. When I spoke with an advisor a few weeks ago he told me that for the weekend program mid 40's is what is usually accepted and that my score is very competitive.  It still worries me though because I do not have any bumps, so we shall see. If there aren't a lot of people applying to the WEP with bumps then we should have a shot at getting in.

Good Luck!

That gives me hope! I was so frustrated because on my most recent TEAS attempt I scored the highest on my science section but took a hard hit on the reading section. If I had scored on the reading as I had on my previous attempts I would've had a 53 admission score :(

Hopefully the applicant pool isn't crazy competitive this semester.

Hello,

I am applying to the Dallas Weekend/Evening program. My stats are:

Science GPA: 3.8 TEAS: 86

I do not know how to calculate the Overall/Pre-Requisite GPA because I am not sure if I have to include the science classes or not.

I am very nervous about  the holistic approach they are taking this year. Answering the additional questions in 900 characters or less is super hard.

Have you used the excel sheet on their page? You just enter your most recent class grades and it’ll give you your core GPA, overall GPA, and admission score. Although with those stats I think your score will be pretty high!

I was able to use the spreadsheet posted above to calculate and it appears the prerequisite GPA does not affect the point system.
I totaled at 44.10 points, I am not too happy about it, but will try my hardest on the short answer responses and hope for the best.
I am curious to see what will end up mattering more, the holistic (short answer) or the grades.
