Hello Everyone,
I have been looking to see if someone would make a forum for us that are applying for the fall 2021 Texas Woman's University nursing program. Since I have not found one I decided to make one. So let's get this forum started! Are you applying to Houston or Dallas? Have you taken your TEAS and if so what was your score? If you have any questions or any information you would like to share please do! I am applying to Dallas and I have yet to take the TEAS.

for you question, I believe some times around March they will send out acceptance
May I ask how is the schedule for traditional class? Thanks!
My schedule was pharmacology and concepts zoom class on Monday (3 hours each) and assessment zoom on Tuesday (3 hours). You will have skills courses in lab for concepts and assessment for the first couple weeks. Then concepts will turn into your clinical (mine was Wednesday) from about 06:00-15:00. Assessment will stay in the lab (mine was Friday). I suggest taking Patho over the Summer (it's all online, no zoom). It makes the semester SO much easier if you do. I also suggest buying a NANDA nursing care plan book.

If you go through your school's website, request an official transcript be sent to TWU. When you look up the school code, it should only bring up the Denton campus.

You said that we have to send our transcripts to both NursingCas and TWU Denton not TWU Dallas right? This sounds dumb but is sending transcript to TWU Denton same as sending transcript to TWU’s Office of Admissions Processing? And
Yes! Send it to TWU Denton office of admissions. Just make sure you send an updated transcript once you finish all classes.

Also, if I'm from TWU then I send my transcript to TWU Denton ?
Okay thank you! How will I know if TWU Denton has recieced my transcript? Will they email me?
You should have some login info for pioneer portal. If all your credentials are from TWU, you shouldn't have to send them a transcript. Only upload to NursingCas.

Just add them to the "planned courses" section. You should have all prerequisites finished by fall 2020. You can only have core classes in progress for Spring 2021.
Hello everyone! This is my first time posting on this forum but found it via Google. I am feeling a bit discouraged reading the discussion and past discussions. I never considered the N/W program, from the sounds of it, it seems less competitive than the Trad program? I want to go to TWU Dallas.
Currently my stats are:
Pre-req GPA: 3.82
Nursing Pre-req GPA: 3.92
I took my TEAS at the beginning of this month. Bad idea. I got a really low score ): I am planning to take it again January 30th. But I am also concerned now after reading how admissions might not be processed on time? I feel really ignorant because I neglected looking into that, I figured, if everything was submitted by Feb 1, I'd be fine. I am considering the N/W program now. Would you suggest switching now in NursingCas to it, or should I wait until after my exam on the 30th. *Sigh* I really want to be admitted to the Fall 2021 cohort, but if Spring 2022 is in my cards, I deal with it. </3.
btw: I have also seen in past discussions some students were admitted to the Trad program with a 68% on their TEAS!
Hi,
I used to be in your position when I first applied on Fall 2020. I am transfer student with no preference point. Therefore, it is extremely hard for me to get into Dallas Trad unless I make >90% on TEAS w/ high GPA. Have you thought of take TEAS at bit earlier? If you are afraid of not having application in on time, I suggest you can fill out the application, and send all your transcript for NursingCas, then submit after finishing TEAS test.
N/W Program is less competitive than Dallas traditional. However, from what I know, to be competitive for N/W you should have high 40s since you never know how many people apply for N/W each cycle.
Retaking TEAS usually has higher score than the last time. I wish you luck! I find smartprep from ATItesting really helpful. And Smart Edition ATI TEAS study guide is good for science and english part ( in my opinion).
Do you have previous bachelor? Are you TWU students (or take at least 12 credits at TWU)? They will give you preference point if you have previous bachelor or TWU student.
Good luck!

I wouldn't switch if traditional fits your goals better. N&W goes in summertime I believe. I would study really hard for the TEAS. I got in with 54 points. No bumps. My suggestion is to submit everything but the TEAS. Take it on the 30th and send in the better score that day. If you make 90 or above (I made an 89 with nursing pre-req 4.0) you should feel confident in your acceptance! I almost applied to Houston and would've moved down there because I was afraid my score wouldn't get me into Dallas. I'm SO glad I didn't do that. If all else fails, Spring semesters usually accept lower points than fall.
