Hey there. I plan on applying to TWUs N&W program in February for the Fall 2020 start. I just took my TEAS test today, my score was:
Overall: 85.3%
Reading: 87.2%
Math: 96.9%
Science: 74.5%
English: 83.3%
I'm not happy with my science score, but I also haven't taken A&P II or Chemistry yet, just A&P I. I plan on retaking the TEAS in December.
I have a 3.85 science core GPA (one B in A&P I) and 3.81 prereq GPA. that gives me a 45.56 admission score, which probably won't cut it. I can't retake A&P I in time, so my only hope is a higher TEAS score.
Who else is applying for Fall 2020? Are you applying to Houston, Dallas Traditional, or Dallas N&W?
Yes first orientation! If it helps, this is my schedule for J1:
Monday
9-12 Concepts lecture
2-4:30 Assessment lecture
Tuesday
8-12 patho
2-5 pharm
Wednesday no class for me
Thursday
Concept lab 8-3 first 7 weeks
Clinical placement 6:30am-7:30pm second 7 weeks
Friday
Assessment lab 4:30-8:30
You will all as a cohort go to the same classes on Monday and Tuesday, then depending on your clinical group you will have a 4 hour assessment lab that can be at any time Wednesday-Saturday and you will have a 7 hour concepts lab (which turns into your clinical placement which will be 12 hrs plus lunch hour) on a day that you don't have Assessment lab Wednesday-Sunday. You will basically have at least one class 4 days out of the week!
I know you are in the traditional program. Any J1s in N&W that can share their schedule?

Both of the other classes list Patho as a co-requisite so I’m wondering if we can’t take it in the Summer. I guess we will find out for sure at orientation.

I had an advisor give me the code to register and as far as I'm aware, they have always allowed it over the Summer. The only thing is, that it counts as one of the 6 drops and you are still held to the same grade standard whether you take it in the Summer or in J1 semester. At least, that's what the advisors email said.

I got the code as well and I’d always heard to take it before the first semester to get it out of the way. That’s why I was confused it said co-requisite. Also the acceptance form said to not Register for any classes before orientation. I hope I’m wrong and we can take in the Summer.

I saw that too, about not registering until orientation, but I didn't want to miss the spot in the class. Hoping the advisor didn't tell me wrong! ??
You are fine to register for Patho for the Summer, it is the rest of the J1 classes that you cannot register for until orientation. If you have the code for patho register for it now to secure a spot for Summer, I wouldn't chance waiting for that one. Just know it is pricey, you will have to pay for all the school's fees and what not and I think it comes out to around $1600 just fyi

$1707 to be exact! I had a bit of sticker shock! It was $1005 for tuition and the rest was fees.
Does anyone know if financial aid will come into play for that? Like I’ve applied for fafsa and I am always forgetful how it works when giving aid.
So generally speaking, FAFSA would apply to the upcoming fall, following Spring, and following Summer. So I applied for FAFSA last year, so my Summer grants should apply to this Summer (I just have to figure out how to get it from NCTC to TWU).
There should be payment plans available May 1st as well if your aid won’t apply towards this Summer like mine is. Just not sure if we will get payment plans bc this is a 10wk course and Summer payment plans are for Long Terms (13 week courses). But it’s worth it to wait till May 1st to pay imo bc the Summer term payment is due on May 12
