TWU Dallas fall 2009 - Accepted

Published

Hello everyone,

I wanted to start a forum for the accpeted students into the TWU Dallas nursing program.

With orientation a month away, I thought it would be nice to get to know those we are going to be working next to for the following 2 years.

So if you want to get to meet some really nice people, I hope that you post here.

I took Patho with *****. I used note cards to help me study. The minute you get the info you need to start looking it over. I had to read over everything every day. He only lectured, we took notes. He made the class pretty difficult in my opinion. I heard that ******* will at least give you notes.

It is definitly alot of connections to A&P. We had alot of Bio stuff not alot of case studies.

Is anyone still on this site.

I'm still here! Just busy taking a butt whipping in Pathophysiology.

Got a message today saying my books are ready to be picked up at Major's!

i am going tomorrow to pick mine up. Who is your patho teacher?

*******.

I don't know when I'll get there to pick my stuff up...It'll probably be next week sometime. I've been putting so many things off since I started this class because ALL my time is so eaten up with studying. I have to go get my 2nd Hep B, get my son a shot, take the kids to the dentist, dermatology appt, OH my stars! Not to mention that my kitchen floors have GOT to be mopped and bathrooms that have GOT to get cleaned.

Guys,

When will the semester start? I am in the waiting list, maybe I will be lucky :nuke:

It satarts Aug31st. I hope you get good news.

Does anyone prefer ***** over ******** for Patho?

Hi Aggie,

Not sure if you still check this but I wanted to know how did ******** turn out for you with Patho? Would you reccommend her? TIA

Definitely NOT. Nice lady but her tests are horrible.

Uggh. The buzz is that there's a better chance of passing her class than the one in Denton. Does she give extra credit? I'm confused :uhoh3:...

No, she doesn't give extra credit. People survive the class because she curves--BIG. She has to, or else hardly anyone would pass. There's typically a 15-20 point curve on each test because she curves to a class average of 80.

The trouble with *********'s class is that she lectures from what she thinks is important, but then she pulls the test questions from the test bank that comes with the text. The text is HORRIBLE. Literally, it could better be used as a doorstop. A few people last semester just stopped going to class alltogether and made As and Bs. I studied my rear off and barely pulled out a B.

The name of the game in that class is just to pass and get done with it.
