TWU Dallas BSN Spring 2015 Applicants

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello TWU Dallas hopefuls! I did not see a board for the spring 2015 applicants, please let me know if there is one already. Deadline to apply for spring 2015 is September 1, 2014. If you are planning to apply to TWU Dallas, introduce yourself!

I will be finishing my prereqs for TWU at TCC and DCCC this summer. I am currently taking chemistry, lifespan growth and development, nutrition & federal government this semester. I'm taking Micro(summer 1) and retaking A&P 1(summer 2) for the summer. I have to retake A&P1 because it will be 6 years old when I apply(bummer).

This has been a long road for me; to actually be so close is exciting/nerve wrecking! I hope to find comfort in knowing others are going through it too. I was working as a registered medical assistant for an infertility clinic for 4 years and am now just a full-time student/mother/wife.

I'll be entering TWU as core complete from TCC, meaning I will not have to take the other math or woman's studies course.

I am taking patho this fall at the Denton campus. I am pretty disappointed I cannot take it online, online is reserved for RN's that are pursuing their BSN. But, I am happy they dropped the first attempt A preference! This does make GPA more competitive and the TEAS as well, but I think with this change, I will have a better chance! (Made a freaking 88 in statistics) I plan on taking the TEAS in July. This applicant pool has the option to take the TEAS more than once, which is nice if you are not happy with your score. Also, the score requirements have changed and you now have to make at least a 64 on all sections to be considered. We all now it has to be much higher to be competitive! (80+ is competitive from what I have gathered from other posts)

I will be applying with a 3.83 GPA if everything goes as planned.

I am considering TCU as well, but my first preference is TWU.:)

If you just got accepted to TWU Dallas, post your stats to ease those like me!

I look forward to meeting everyone! Introduce yourself and tell us how you are doing.

@jsm4 My first choice is TWU but I dont mind UTA since im currently attending there at the moment

I was told that acceptance emails will be sent out in mid October. I know it will be here before we know it, but right now it feels like forever!

Hey guys! I just got off the phone with the CON (again..I feel bad for bugging them). They told me there were 403 applications for the Dallas campus and 395 for the Houston campus, and as @katep mentioned, we should be getting acceptance emails (if we are accepted) in about two weeks. Just thought I'd share this info with you all :)

Is anyone taking any classes this semester or just waiting? I finished all the pre-req for TWU, so I guess I'm off this Fall 2014 but I am doing some self study on pharmacology, and pathology.

@jnette2016

im taking patho right now at TWU

Hey Nikki4,

I am also taking Patho right now at TWU, on Monday mornings at the Dallas campus. How are you doing so far and how did you do on the first exam? It was a lot different than I had expected, but I am hoping to do better on the next one.

Hey Savannah!

I love the class, so fascinating! There is a ton of information and I spend most of my days reading the book. First exam went well got an A. You definetly need to know ever detail I feel.

Oh and my class is in Denton Tuesday & Thursday.

What text book are you guys using for the patho class? Are you renting or buying your books?

The textbook I use is, Pathophysiology: the biological basis for disease in Adults and Children 7th Ed. I bought mine for $124 off of Amazon.

Nikki,

I love the class too! The professor (Ms. M) is brilliant! I spend a lot of time studying, but I'm also taking 2 others classes, so I can't spend as much time as I'd like to. Unfortunately, I made a B on the first exam, but I'm hoping to make a better grade by studying a little differently. You definitely need to know every detail.
