Hello all!! Just wanted to start this feed for people apply for the August 2018 group to keep people posted on interviews and admissions! Hope everything is going great for everyone! :)

Yes you can PM me if you would like

Hello! Thank you! Because I'm new to the site, it won't let me initiate a PM. If you have access, can I initiate the PM forum between us. Thank you!

Does anyone know if the interviews take place in Shreveport and Alexandria or Fort Worth? Thanks.

According to the TWU website, interviews for both Louisiana locations are held in Fort Worth.

Great. Thanks.

Hi! Is anyone willing to elaborate more on the interview? Is it mostly knowing the meds in depth on a cellular level? The other interviews I've had have been more of a getting to know me with no clinical questions!

If you've been accepted this is the Unofficial Facebook page search for it and request to join

Texas Wesleyan CRNA Class of 2020

I'm also curious what type of questions are asked at the in-person interview in January. Anyone know people from last year that interviewed, what type of questions they were asked?

Canookies,

here's what I told another person:

-Make sure you know your own field. I'm a CT nurse, so talking about post op hearts, complications, interventions, medications, etc was important. They want to see how you think. Prepare a few patient scenarios that you've come across recently and be able to talk about them if asked. I was asked to talk about the differences between a LVAD and IABP. That's my wheelhouse. If you don't feel like you could do that about your own type of clinical practice with whatever population you see daily, IMO you're not ready for CRNA school.

- I'd recommend having a good grasp of ABG interpretation if you don't already. Know how to fix it. If you want a good resource for these things, look up Kathy White's Fast Facts for Critical Care. The book is my guide. I use it daily. That's all I used to review for the past month since I was notified for an interview.

- When you discuss a topic, anything you bring up is probably going to lead to another question about it. If you don't know a lot of detail, say IT. For instance, I said in one of the interviews, I don't come across Dopamine much in my practice, but here's what I know about it.... Being vague is ok for things like that, you don't want to paint yourself into a corner.

-Don't BS them, it's ok not to know everything. I got stumped in both interviews at least once, but showed my personality, calm demeanor and humility. Those things are way more important than knowing everything. That's what CRNA school is for!

Thanks DnvrOutdoorsRN,

You're the 3rd person to mention Kathy White's book, so I'm going to go ahead and order it. My background is CTICU as well, sick VADs, balloons and cardiogenic shock are my go to. I have less than a month to be comfortable for this interview, it doesn't feel like enough time ... I feel the CCRN was a piece of cake compared to a live interview where the questions can keep on going deeper into a topic

Are the interviews with one candidate at a time, or is it multiple candidates at one time?

How grueling was the process? Crazy in depth or did you basically have to assert knowledge of basic principles? Thanks in advance
