Tweety! ADN to MSN Online

I noticed in another thread you mentioned you were an ADN-RN who did online classes to get your BSN. I am currently aimed down this track and was wondering if you might outline how you accomplished your goal and any advice you might offer others looking to head down the online BSN/MSN path.

Thanks!

PS. I posted this openly so as to help others who might have the same wonders.

First, thanks for asking and noticing!

Sencond, Tweety is a male bird. :)

Third, I did not do ADN to MSN, but I did ADN to BSN. When I started thinking about furthering my education I was working night shift and wasn't really interested in an MSN. I was interested in having job options away from the stress of hospital bedside nursing as I age. So I decided to go online through Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences. It was a great experience. I had some co-req courses to take such as Chemistry, Statistics, and some humanities so it took me a while, but I did it! After starting I switched to day shift and had some minor regrets for not choosing the cheaper program at St. Pete College, but hey had some daytime activities that I wasn't interested in when I signed up initially.

When I switched to day shift, not long after I started my BSN program, I become one of the preceptors to students, and worked with a lot of new grads and students and found an inner desire to teach, so I've decided to go on and get an MSN in Education. I choose Walden University's online program for convenience and I like their cirriculum better than the local MSN program here at USF. No GRE required. I start my courses Jan. 2nd, so the verdicts still out there on that one.

In hindsight it might have been better to find an online ADN-to-MSN program and perhaps be done quicker, but I didn't go that route. No regrets however.

I'll be more than happy to share and answer questions. If anyone else who has done online ADN-to-MSN wants to chime in that would be great!

I know this was posted a longggggggg time ago,, But I am looking into Walden's ADN to MSN track and came upon this.

Is there anything you can tell me now after starting the program, or anyone else who has experience with this college or program??

Thanks :)
