The nervousness that you are feeling is a great one! That means that you are actually going to go and start practicing what you have spent 1000s of hours studying. Have fun with it! You will meet all kinds of fascinating people along your journey. I still get nervous going to clinicals because you never know what personality, illness etc you are going to encounter!
Thanks for telling us about your day. I won't be in clinicals for at least a year, but I am very curious about what I'll be in for.
You weren't paired up with anybody? You were just by your little ol' self? Yikes! Sounds like you handled your duties well. How long will you stay in geriatric care for this clinical?

'twas the night before clinical, and all through the house, a nursing student was stirring.... Okay, tomorrow is our first "clinical experience". It's actually an immersion day (I think that's how they describe it). We are at a local nursing home tomorrow (from 6:30 am - 2:00 pm) to get accustomed to talking with patient's and being in a clinical setting. Next week we actually have our orientation at the hospital we'll be at. Tomorrow I think we will just be learning how to approach the patient, speak with them, do some bed/bath's, etc.
I'm so excited but also nervous!!! I guess it's a good-nervous, right? I just wanted to wish everyone else out there who is at the same step that I am or ahead the best of luck. I am so glad these boards are out there. Makes me feel like I'm not alone in this!
