hi all. i applied to two nursing schools this year. one is a cc and one is a private school. ( a small private school). both i attended prerequisties at. i got to know the owners and operators, also teachers at the private school real good. they are great people, man...but if i can go to the cc i would save $15,000. how would i tell these people that i got into a cc? the owner told me he liked me so much that he would without a doubt save me a spot in the program..i mean i'm not saying i"m so good he needs me there..i'm saying, he is so kind and because i got along so well him and his wife they wanted me to go. what do i say? do i call, write or go face to face to tell i won't be going there? has anyone else had a similar experience.

thanks so much

i have not had a similar experience, but i would say considering your background with them and their willingness to give you a spot in the program, i would do it face to face. just explain to them that it comes down to money and while you would love to attend their program, you can't do it financially. see what they have to say to that. but from the way your talking, it sounds like you know them fairly well, so out of respect, i would say face to face (as hard is it will be) would be the way to go. jmo

good luck!

I would have to agree, that you should do it face for face. Since you already have somewhat of a friendship, I think you need to explain to them that you will be making the choice because of financial reasons. I think they will understand. It's good not to burn your bridges, you just never know. Good Luck!

I also vote for doing it face to face. You never know, they might be able to scrape up some scholarship money for you and knock down the 15k difference between the 2 programs.

Yes I think you all are right! I just was hoping for an easier way, but I know its the right thing to do, it is what I will do! Thanks for the encouragement, I just didnt' expect it to be so hard, whew. I'll stay posted.
