How do hospitals expect for a Nurse to have one year experience if they don't give them a chance??? Most places won't even consider other experience! Even if you acquire your BSN with no hospital experience, I doubt they will even hire you??? It's very disappointing that so much has changed in the past 2 years!!!

My only advice would be to make sure whatever school you decide to choose, make sure it's an accredited school! There were a lot of LPN's in my school who had to start from the beginning because they attended a BOCES or a "free" type of LPN program and were now looking to further their careers as RN's!! Boyer79, You can try Cochran School of Nursing. Check the website for the application information and deadlines. Whatever you decide make sure it's an accredited school because if not you will not have the credits required to further your education. Good Luck!!

Wow, I just graduated from Nursing school so I cannot really give you advice on working as Nurse because I have none as of yet! But what I can tell you is that, I decided to go back to school after I had a career in Accounting and when I got hurt on the job I decided it was time to move on. I can honestly say that you must do what you love, but I've always wanted to do this and never really liked school enough to stick it out. Now that I'm older, I stuck through it!! In an economy where things are uncertain, there is certainty in the medical field. Just to think that I will always have a job and pretty good salary made me chage my mind! Also, there are so many aspects of nursing and you are free to choose or specialize in an area that you like. There are endless possibilites. Good Luck whatever you decide!! I would have to agree, that you should do it face for face. Since you already have somewhat of a friendship, I think you need to explain to them that you will be making the choice because of financial reasons. I think they will understand. It's good not to burn your bridges, you just never know. Good Luck!

The science section is what will probably get you! Everything else I felt was a breeze. For me, the science section seemed to be a lot of physics & chemistry...yukkk! I don't know how I actually did on the exam, but I don't feel I did too well on that part. Honestly, I didn't have time to study those subjects. Good Luck!

Hello everyone...a newbie to the forum. I took the test last week and received my scores yesterday. I scored a 122 composite score with an 84th pecentile. :yelclap: I did well on the Math and not that great on Science and Verbal. I knew I would have a hard time with the verbal reading passages. Unfortunately, ran out of time and had to guess about 15 questions....yikes! Anyhow, for those of you who are taking the NLN exam, I can only suggest that you study as much as you can, I did for a month and wish I had more time to study. The test consists of 80 verbal questions in 1 hour, 54 math questions in 1 hour, and 80 science questions in 1 hour. I felt I had a lot of Chemistry and Physics questions...don't really care for Physics at all! :uhoh21: I've been out of school for 14 years and felt I did pretty good overall, considering I didn't take Chemistry, Physics and a whole bunch of other stuff in school. Congratulations to all those who did well on this forum, it was nerve racking to say the least. Now, I hope I got a good enough score to make it into the program January 2008.
