Tulane, West Jefferson, East Jefferson...Good places to work???

Published

I am interested in Tulane Hospital, West Jefferson, and East Jefferson. Are they good places to work? Can anyone please tell me about any of these hospitals? I'm new grad, moving to N.O., know nothing about the area. Thanks in advance to any replies.

There have been several posts in the last few months with new grads asking the same questions as you. Take a look at some of the posts for information. I have a list of salaries for several of the hospitals in the area that we collected last month. If you will send me a private message I will send you a copy of that list. Give me a few days since I am in my last two weeks of school and am, as you know, very busy.

No fair keeping secrets, I was looking into working at Tulane in New Orleans. I have an interview coming up and will probably relocate there. Any tips/suggestions?

Hey, wish I could help, but I'm probably just as lost as you are. I accepted a job from one of those hospitals. I am walking into it completely blind. I've never even been to Louisiana.

I've been to new orleans twice before and loved it. Thats why I want to work down there. I'm actually going for an interview @ Tulane at the end of the month and was hoping for some advice but no one seems to have any. I wish you lots of luck where ever you end up.

Just curious,,as to what is attracting you guys to come to Louisiana? I mean I've been living here for many, many years, but always wondered about other places. I noticed one of you is from New York? Figured it would be great there...

Most of the hospitals pay around the same, $23.00 hr. Rent is outrageous right now because of the hurricane. I happen to know of a really nice place 3-4 bdrms uptown for somewhere around $16-1700 a month. Private message if you need info. Also look at Craig's list on the internet for information. I swear you can find out anything about a city from studying that website.

Good luck

I lived in NY all my life. The RN salaries are great here, I make about 68K a year. I will be getting almost 20K less by moving to LA but supposedly the cost of living is less there. I just want a change and really liked the New Orleans area.
