Once again, last night, hubby gave me grief about the dog. And of course it was because of the vodka. I had half made up my mind to say the hell with getting the dog, but I still feel like she and I need each other. And I really do think hubby is jealous. We'll see how he acts tonight. He is so tedious about the dog not being three years old because he was planning to breed her. He needs to get over it!
Right now we are all about to go get our hair cuts.
Good morning!
Recuse dogs, don't breed them.
Hope you get your dog Stars and soon. This waiting and aggravation with Mr. Stars is too stressful.
Not too much insomnia but took a klonopin because I just wasn't relaxing close to midnight. Woke up at 5:30 and my alarm was set for 7AM so there's that.
Went to yoga and doing some meal prep. Going to best friends to watch a movie. I'm sure I've review it in my movie thread here.
Ugh, Stars, hubby just sounds irrational. He can't even take care of himself. I hope you get your companion soon.
I met the lady who is selling one of her Boston terriers. She brought him to our house, and she was checking us out. She had concerns about our busy street and if the dog could slip out. We have agreed to reinforce the fence, and I never leave the dog out unattended. I think she still not sure we are trustworthy. Oh well, if it's not meant to be, then we'll keep looking. He sure is cute, and loving.
I am at the tire store presently. The alert thing came on in my car, and I am overdue for tires. Better to get them now than wait for a flat. I can change a tire, but I don't want to.
I went to see sis yesterday. She slowly healing, but still has the "dizzys", which is what caused her fall and leg fracture. She sees a neurologist at the end of this month.
Annie, I find that avocado on whole grain toast to be an easy, filling breakfast. I sprinkle it with flax meal and add a few sprouts if I have them.
Dianah, I hope your dh is healing and feeling better than yesterday.
Hi Tweety and Joe. And TMB and Beerman, if you're lurking. I love hearing about your dogs.
Thanks for all your good wishes and vibes for dh's surgery. He is doing much better today, though still had a bout with pain in left eye. Thankfully it was relieved with the eye gtts and tylenol.
He had his postop appt this morning and everything looks good. He can, amazingly, see distance very well. He has worn glasses since he was three years old, and it is astounding to him to be able to see without them, now! He will always need glasses for reading and computer work -- we got him some readers at RiteAid for the reading. I have an old pair of computer-only glasses that he is using for that. Opthalmologist said his life-long "double vision" may yet return, we will see. But, as others report, colors are so much brighter! He is enjoying this!
I did a load of laundry and took a trip to the grocery store. :) More laundry needs doing (hand laundry) but meh, maybe I'll do it, maybe I won't.
Have a good evening!
Also curious about the book you didn't like, Joe. I've placed a hold on my club's next book but might not get it before we meet.
Took the day off today and had a doctor appt then attended a "class" on Medicare offered by the local career center. I did learn things I didn't know. (Hubs will be 65 in Jan). This morning Hubs participated virtually in an initial hearing over whether stepson's guardian will be allowed to sell his house since he won't agree to it. Stepson was interrupting the judge and going on unrelated rants. Hubs was feeling pretty stressed out by the end of it.
The guys and I watched the TMNT movie and enjoyed it. Then Twin B got called in to work tonight.
Hope you all have a good night.
Glad to hear that Mr. Dianah's doing well.
When I adopted Waffles they decided not to do a home inspection because covid was just ramping up and I had had a home visit a few years prior when I adopted SlowBro. Some of them can be thorough and picky. Billy's adoption went quick as it was and urgent need and I felt the foster mom who already had dogs and was the vet tech where someone turned him in, wanted to get rid of him...no fees, no paper work, just "here he is take him". I always get an agreement that I'll keep a dog for a weekend and see how it goes with the idea that if we're not compatible, I'll turn them back in. Never had the heart to do that as we all made a connection.
All my social media is about ads signing up for medicare as I turn 65 next May. I'm not sure if I want to attend a seminar, but like most people I'm pretty ignorant about such things. I won't use it since I'm still working but I have questions. I might attend one but they sometimes there's a hook like a free webinar and then a sales pitch about something. Like I told one guy doing a seminar "nothing is for free" but he assured me it was. I wondered how he made a living but didn't ask.
The movie was good. Fell short on some of my housework today but had a good day anyway.

Tweety hope you sleep better tonight
Stars hopefully the dog will arrive by next week if not this one
Dianah I'm glad his procedure went well, hopefully the recovery is quick
Work ended up being fairly busy, lot of calls to return, and one confusing case that actually was supposed to go to someone else. Hoping today will be slower
Stopped by the library to pick up this month's book club book, and went home and exercised and emailed with my cousins about the trip, working out some last details
Tonight have book club, will be interesting as I hated last month's book and skipped most of it, wonder how the others felt
Another cool day in the upper 60s like yesterday, but no rain expected
