Good morning!
Joe, hope the one error is processed and you're moving on. I'm the same way and get dejected and beat myself up when I make a mistake.
I canceled on my best friend today. I think the vaccines have me a bit washed out today and I wouldn't be much company. I'll stick close to home and some in-house stuff to shake it off and see him perhaps tomorrow.
The weather widget seems to have disappeared on my phone but it feels nice enough to open the windows for the first time since probably April or May.
I got up around 10:30 and walked Tinker. When we got back inside, I heard sounds from Nannie's room so I peeked in and she was sound asleep, snoring in a variety of snores. This happened several times. I finally woke her up even though she wanted to keep sleeping. She is acting, I dunno, it's not a medical term, but she's kind of DUDDY today, maybe somewhat vacant. I had to say things to her 3 or 4 times before she'd respond. I poked around , uhhhhm , palpated her back and hips and she denied pain. Once I got her dressed and into her recliner I had her squeeze my fingers (grip was only slightly weaker on the right). I had her stick out her tongue; it was only very slightly toward the right, it was maybe a "silly little millimeter" or two off, but nothing remarkable. I was thinking maybe she'd had a TIA, but I can't say with any certainty that she needs to be seen or examined. I gave her the meds and then her yogurt, juice, and BOOST. She ate the yogurt, and guzzled some juice, then started spooning the juice out of the glass and into her mouth. I took the spoon away and she finished drinking the juice. Then I reminded her the chocolate BOOST (which she loves) was on the little table beside her.....she put her hand on it and then took her hand back into her lap. I said "How about drinking that chocolate drink?!" and she shook her head no. I asked her again and she shook her head "no" and barely whispered the word "no". Now she is sound asleep again, but at least SO FAR she is not tilting to her right like she frequently does when she is in that chair.
I walked Tinker around outside again, and then sat out on the patio with Tinker sitting on my knees. It's pretty nice out there.....sunny, not at all humid, and a little bit breezy. Nannie didn't wake up when we came back in. The washing machine is going and I have not shut the door like I do to muffle the sound, and she hasn't noticed that noise either.
Now Tinker is sleeping alongside of me and has put her who;e head over the laptop keys, so I suppose I should stop here and give her some attention!
It does indeed feel good to get some things out of the house. I had a terrible dream the other night about being surrounded by piles of stuff and unable to locate anything I needed because we had so much "stuff." I told Hubs about it and he laughed and said I must be feeling anxious about the accumulation of things.
My weekend was consumed with fretting over doing the stupid colonoscopy yesterday. I used the Sutab prep -- 24 tablets to swallow one at a time in 2 sessions of about 1.5 hr. With lots of water, but not nearly as much liquid as the other types of preps. Still had me vomiting and, well, the other thing, once it kicked in and I was ready to quit and just not go through with it. But I got over that and of course the procedure itself was no big deal. But Hubs had not made note of the fact he needed to get a Gma sitter when we discussed it before. The hospice social worker gave him a couple of names and we ended up having someone come. There were 4 small polyps, so the recommendation is to do it again in 3 years. I was really hoping for 10. Had a terrible breakout of hives a couple hours after getting home -- not sure what I reacted to. I had been itching the night before but didn't notice any weals at that time. When I noticed the hives, I took Claritin and used a topical benadryl and things cleared up fairly quickly. Anywho, I think I have my self-maintenance stuff managed for awhile.
At band practice the other night the flute section (all 6 of us) was recruited to form a flute choir and do a couple of pieces for the small ensemble concert. The piece we rehearsed was fun and not over-challenging.
It is still warm (mid 80s). We'd like to have a cool night to have a fire and make s'mores. Surely soon we can do that.
How weird is this? >>> After I got through with my post, I had to edit it to change some punctuation. But then I couldn't get it to "save" and print the post here on the screen. So, I waited a while and tried again.....nada. Then I decided I would just go ahead and hit "cancel" and go ahead and repost, but, THAT'S when it saved itself onto the page.
Several hours have passed and I finished her laundry. Our Ms. Nannie is still out cold (asleep), so I guess I will take Tinker out again.
Annie, that sounds like a rough road for your procedure. Of course, it is good that it was done and they got the polyps out. I had not heard of that prep. I am due next year, and sort of dread it. I had terrible cramping the day after. I thought it could have be due to the propofol, the the GI Dr thought I might have had a hematoma. I have had propofol since for another procedure, and felt poorly the day after.
It was a sunny and cold day here. Youngest son said there was frost on his bus when he got to work. I painted on the deck for about 3 hours. It went slow because I was doing around the steps. I hope to finish tomorrow. I am going to order pizza and salad for dinner. I didn't make anything last night. I had a bowl of cereal and dh heated up some breaded chicken strips.
I took this photo last week of a little tree frog. Ribbit.
Love the frog photo, nursej22! How nice you are almost done with your painting project, that's got to be satisfying.
Ado, glad you are DONE with the procedure. I hadn't heard of that prep either. I hope you are feeling better after all is said and done.
Tweety, I hope you are feeling better tomorrow, and not as washed out as today. Do you still have the GI issues?
Hello No Stars! Scratches to Tinker. Glad it's a quiet Nannie day.
I took a short nap, after not sleeping much last night. We had a brief (15-min) poiwer outage with the storm, but no further issues. After lunch and the nap, I drove over to visit S. We usually walk on Tuesdays but with today's rain that was cancelled. So we got together for a good chinwag! Then I got a few things at the grocery store on the way home.
California is outlawing plastic bags, come January. The two grocery stores I frequent (or haunt, as may be the case) have recently switched to PAPER bags. Yuck! I mentioned to one of the checkers recently that I was concerned about the bags tearing/ not being strong enough for groceries. I was told these are (supposedly) stronger than previously-used paper grocery bags. They don't have handles (like Trader Joes' bags do) -- so I foresee them ripping when grabbed the "wrong" way. Gotta be careful how they are hoisted, make sure they are supported from below -- AND I can't carry 20 of them in at a time, like I could with the plastic ones!! Two at a time, at most. I guess the bright side is, I will get more steps in! I have plenty of re-useable bags, as long as I remember to bring them with me/use them. First world issues!
Have a good evening!

NJ22 thanks for the picture
Dianah it does feel good when you get rid of that old stuff you know you won't use
Stars I'm glad they got the computer straightened out
Tweety glad you're having a better day
Yesterday was mostly good at work, not too busy. Did make an error at work, not a major one by any means but one that annoyed me greatly, as I am normally careful to check and double check things and am a bit of a perfectionist. Know that I will be even more careful going forward but do feel rather deflated
Rest of the day was pretty ordinary. Exercised after work. Had a longer than normal meeting of the entertainment committee of the gay group.
Today shouldn't be too bad at work, too some time yesterday to work ahead for today, as I know the tasks will pile up given that I'm off Thurs and Fri. Grocery shopping after work
Think it will get up to about 70 again today
