Good morning!
Went to work for a 7:45 meeting and no one showed up. It was even posted on the outside of the room. Humph...I had a 9AM doctor's appointment in the building across the street so just had some breakfast and coffee and waited.
Had a good visit with her. It's just the three month requirement to renew my benzo which she did which unfortunately canceled one the pharmacy had ready that I ordered yesterday. But it wasn't a long wait. She's deferring to GI for my issues but mentioned down the road she might refer to Infectious Disease if I'm still infected. We're all baffled I think at the persistence of this. Anyway, this is my life.
Got a message from the fraud department at my bank that they sided with me and refunded my money. They said it might take up to 60 days and it took just a few days. I think they can clearly look up this "company" and see it's a scam. They are listed on the Better Business Bureau as a scammer as well. It's a shame other than report them as scammers they can't be stopped. I think my theory that they are in Africa is true. I looked up some of their addresses and they aren't legit. One says "Central Street, Kansas City" and there is only a "Central Avenue". Anyway, I hope this will close that chapter. I was tired of seeing that money taken out of my account every time I logged on.
We won one game last night but that still keeps us in last place for a 5th week in a row. LOL
Going to hot yoga and the grocery store and will prepare some lunches and dinners.
Have a good day.
Good morning, all.
We went for a lengthy drive yesterday. First, we picked up some Spring bulbs that dh had ordered from a grower in the county just south of us. Then, to the next county west, to visit a master gardener demo garden. dh is looking at how they do their signs for educating visitors, as that is the main mission of MGs. I had a nice visit with a volunteer there, who was working in the rose gardens. Then, we drove south, to catch a ferry, heading west, and on to an arboretum and MG garden. Then, turned north, and a third MG garden, and finally, dinner. The day was sunny, mid 60s, and a beautiful drive. Today, we are going to start painting the deck, so I am procrastinating.
There are so many scams going on out there. I must get 3 phone calls a day that show as "likely spam" that I don't ever answer. I don't know how much time I waste cleaning up email. And 99% of snail mail goes right in the recycle bin. I had a $300 random charge on my debit card this Summer. I sped to the bank, they reimbursed it, and another company reimbursed them later.
Did you see that one of the Nobel prize winners missed the call from Sweden because she thought it was spam?
Stars, best wishes to your brother. And to your friend, Joe.
Tweety, I command your gut to be well!
Hi, Dianah, and Annie.
I tried to upload pictures from the ferry, but something went wrong. perhaps later.
Hello all!
The weather was nice yesterday for walking around Disneyland, so we dressed dapper and went! We walked only half as much as we usually do, as dh has a bit of a sprained ankle -- he finally put the story together and decided that over the weekend when he went out to get the mail (it was dark), he stepped onto an irregular patch of grass because the sidewalk was blocked off, being re-built. Apparently where he stepped was a depression, for he kinda lurched into it. Thus the sore ankle the next day. He wanted to go to the parks, so we went, but he was pretty well hampered by the ankle. He used his cane, as always, but still had to step on that foot/leg.
I saw on FB that one of our long-time members, bushambo, died yesterday. He was an ambulance driver/first responder who lived in a remote area of the Australian bush. He also maintained the huge generator to supply electricity to that area, and he loved talking about going up in gliders! He always had stories and cheeky responses, he was a real character! I will miss seeing his posts.
Not much planned today. I need to exercise and perhaps make some soup and "crackers" (the baked cheese crackers).
Have a good afternoon/evening!
Gosh I am sorry to hear about Bushambo; I haven't seen anything from him on line here for quite a while. I always read his entries in this site to my hubby, because they were always so interesting, and forever after that hubby would ask me if we have heard from him at all lately. I kind of assumed he had died quite some time ago because he had a lot of health problems. I know he worked so hard at all his jobs and also had many interests. RIP Bushambo! Now you don't have to ask anyone to 'tie your kangaroo down, mate.' 😉
I had a 'nerve' explosion yesterday evening (IBS-D) because I spent the afternoon doing tortuous financial wranglings. That kind of money-related stuff and doing stuff on the computer about it, PLUS the excessive Nannie-ness of my life always brings forth (not meant as a pun, but as I typed it I saw it could qualify) protests from my sensitive-to-emotions gut. So I gulped down two anti-diarrheal pills and drank some more kefir, and now I am better, for the time being. Until the next thing comes along that scrapes like an avalanche of granite boulders through my insides. I used to say I was a 'delicate flower' but it seems like everyone's response to that was a "HAHAHA!" (But, I AM a delicate flower about some things!)
Looking forward to tomorrow for Nannie to be gone to daycare,
It is, so far this late afternoon, a quiet day. The weather is pleasant....partly to mostly cloudy, but no rain, and somewhere in the 70's.
'Twas a pleasant day here, finally starting to feel more fall-like. The meeting in OKC was long but informative.
Stepdaughter kept texting, freaking out, because she thought DIL was going to be discharged today. It might happen tomorrow, although they have no wheelchair ramp. She's going to need therapy. I hope it all works out. Stepdaughter was wishing I was there. I was wishing I was there. I had talked myself into thinking we could best help with financial support. After all, her mother lives not far away. And DIL's parents are nearby. Anyway, she seemed calmer after the last conversation with case management.
I read a little bit about temporal bone fractures and there are some bad possibilities but maybe they won't happen.
This kitten is being very playful and climbing all over me with her "motor running."

Tweety hopefully his moving goes smoothly
Stars hope your brother is discharged soon and that you feel better
Ado glad you're feeling better
Work started off with our case management software down for more than 3 hours. Did a good job not getting too irritated, instead did the laundry while they worked on the problem. Then cut lunch short to get caught up. Thankfully not much to do, and no new cases or much in the way of documents or emails. By the end of the day was caught up
After work ran an errand or two, but it was basically pretty quiet
Today have nothing unusual at work. After work will just be the usual grocery shopping and exercise
Finally cooler here, will rain the morning, will only get to the upper 60s
